Sneaky Sam: Halfling Assassin (and LOOT!)

Just a quick update – I happened to finish up this little guy along with my Lead Adventure Forum’s Lead Painter’s League entry for Round Eight, so I thought I’d share him – because I CAN!

Sneaky Sam: Halfling Assassin – figure from Hasslefree Miniatures.

A pair of Treasure Tokens from Lead Adventure Miniatures - which I got as part of my Dwarven Gold Fever Kickstarter Rewards.

Coming soon on Tim’s Miniature Wargaming Blog:

Tomorrow, as Round Seven of the Lead Painter’s League finishes up,  I should be posting the second batch of Super Dungeon Explore: Forgotten King miniatures. After that… Probably Round Eight’s entry – some DWARVES from the Dwarven Gold Fever Kickstarter - and the unit of Dwarven Rangers they’ll be a part of in my Dwarf Dragon Rampant warband!

One Halfling (Finishing Up a Unit!)

I finished one Halfling last night… but that finished off a unit… so…

(Remember: click on the pictures for a bigger version):

One Halfling from Casting Room Miniatures. He looks like he’s on watch duty, but he will also serve as part of the Halfling Hollow Defence Committee Militia unit of spear.

Well I also added some shields to these guys I painted just over a year ago (to make them look just a tad more formidable… or something approaching formidable… or at least less like s squishy speed bump…).

The entire Halfling Hollow Defence Committee Militia Spear Unit. In  Dragon Rampant they will be classed as Light Foot (3 points). I was thinking I could give them the Short Range Missiles upgrade (to give them the ability to pick up stones and chuck them at an approaching enemy!)… we shall see…

The rest of the Halfling Hollow Defence Committee Militia will be a mix of Light Missile (which may or may not have the Sharpshooter upgrade… though I’m thinking I might leave that one to Elves… I don’t want the Halflings to be TOO effective!) and a few Scouts and/or Hordes.

I have a bunch of Halflings armed with short swords and I’d originally thought I’d use in mixed units of Light Foot… but then thought those might be a little too good. Looking at the overall effect off the units, they should be pretty weak… I was thinking I’d add Fearful… but that would make them so cheap I’d need even MORE of them! And I figured they’d mostly be fighting to defend their realm from outside invaders and raiders and would likely be pretty spirited in that defence…

Probably more fantasy stuff.

More Medieval Muslims and Halflings. etc.

In addition to playing Frostgrave, I got a bit of painting done over the weekend…

(Remember: click on the pictures for a bigger version):

Four more Arabian Fantasy figures from Mega Miniatures. The three on the left I thought I’d use as Magicians/Wizards/Apprentices and the fellow on the right could be an Apothecary…?

Three more “Thugs” from Black Tree Design

Two more Medieval Muslims of unknown manufacture.

Nine Halflings from Black Tree Design.

I am one Halfling short of 60 which will make me 6 units for Dragon Rampant - once I finish up that last one I’ll get some pictures of the entire force. I’d originally thought I’d Light Foot and Light Missiles, but I think I’ll end up with four units of Light Foot Mixed units (a mix of hand weapons and missile weapons) @5 points each and two units of Scouts @ 2 points each for a total of 24 points.

Finally a young apprentice for a Green Wizard – the figure is an old Citadel Miniature I’ve had since the 80’s and stripped of it’s old paintjob some time ago and just now got to re-painting.

Hobbit, Commando, Terrain Bits

Just a quick update with a few things rolling off the workbench. I haven’t had a lot of hobby time this last week – which I’ll probably explain in a post later this week… but I did get these few things finished…

(Remember: click on the pictures for a bigger version):

Two little terrain bits from Reaper Miniatures - we got these are part of the Bones II Kickstarter and I thought I’d best finish them up to use as terrain bits/treasure markers in Frostgrave.

Some Catachan Imperial Guard Super-Commando dude… from Games Workshop - I was going for a total cammed up look…

Halfling from  Reaper Miniatures. I have less than a dozen unpainted Halflings in my possession, so I’ve been trying to finish up the lot of them so I can have another group that I can say are “done”!

We finally got in a game of Frostgrave last night. I should have a game report up shortly….
