Starhed. - Children (2017) EN

Starhed. is a project by Rhys Gabriel, Michigan-based artist and creator of a very, very atmospheric experiment published on an album called "Children".

It's not really drone, it's not really ambient and not exactly post-rock. Everything at once. The most important creation, two-pieces track "Julian" involves both droning guitar soundscapes and more traditional guitar post-rock evolving towards very much guitar riff ruling the composition by itself only to transform to a fully legit post-rock celebration in the second part.

The second part of the album doesn't lack other moody surprises - led by beautiful vocal (Jónsi, anyone?) and sacral atmosphere of "Rhys" and trumpets in "Aidan".

Starhed. to Rhys Gabriel, artysta z Michigan, twórca bardzo, bardzo nastrojowego eksperymentu wydanego na płycie "Children".

Nie jest to ani do końca drone ani do końca ambient ani też post-rock. Wszystkiego po trochę. Najważniejsze dzieło, dwuczęściowy utwór "Julian" ma w sobie i dronujące gitarowe soundscape'y i bardziej tradycyjny gitarowy post-rock ewoluujący w stronę prawdziwie gitarowego riffu zagarniającego dla siebie całą kompozycję by w części drugiej stać się pełnoprawnym post-rockowym misterium.

W drugiej części albumu nie brakuje kolejnych nastrojowych niespodzianek - na czele z pięknym wokalem (komus jeszcze przypomina Jónsiego?) i sakralną atmosferą w "Rhys" i instrumentami dętymi w "Aidan".
