First off, I want to thank our friend defleshed for bringing this band back to my attention. I had this rip in my May 2019 folder, and I remember listening to this when I found it and thinking that these guys were pretty good, but I wasn't familiar with them at all. The reason may be that 2 of the original founding members, the Reissdorf brothers, died in a car crash in 1992 and even though I think the band carried on for some time after that tragedy, their fate was sealed.

I came across this album a couple of weeks ago, and my initial reaction was, Wow! Then, it was where in the hell was this album back in '93 when I was looking for something like this. Actually, I was looking for stuff just like this in '87 or '88 because by 1993 thrash had a much heavier and industrialized sound than this, but I love this style. The dude has amazing range in his vocals, the riffs are heavy and catchy, and the overall production is solid for an independent release. These dudes were from Orange County, CA., and unfortunately would only put out this 1 album that I am glad to have finally discovered, albeit 30+ years too late.

I purchased Phantom's debut album Dead Or Alive back in 1987 and I liked it but it wasn't one of my favorites. Fast forward to May of 2024 and I came across this album 31 years after its release I listened to it and thought to myself, "Where was this at 35 years ago? I would've jammed it repeatedly." As it stands I still think this is kind of a cool collection of songs so I wanted to share it for other old-school power metal fans to check out.

I was not aware of this band from Cincinnati back in the day and they only existed for a couple of years but they had a lot of talented people involved in a band that would only release this and 2 demos. From looking at the song titles on all 3 it looks like they created only 8 or 9 songs total and this disc has 4 of them, well 3 proper songs and a short instrumental but they're all good.

I am really not very familiar with this band but I'll tell you what, I like this album quite  a bit and they also released a couple of other highly regarded albums previously under the moniker of Baphomet and that shit is very good too. They changed their name to Banished for a short time due to some conflicts with a German band also known as Baphomet. However, I see that they reclaimed their original name and are still considered to be active with a release as recently as 2012.
