Back in 2014, when I heard Body Harvest's debut, Futile Creation, I was immediately impressed by their brand of death metal, but for some reason, I didn't pay as much attention to this album. It is not that this is a bad album; it's not, but I guess there has been too much death and not enough life to enjoy it all. Sadly, these guys split up following this release.

As it would turn out, this would be the band's last toke. Based on their Metal Archives page, it says they disbanded on 10/17/25. That is a damn shame because they always provided a great buzz. Every strain they produced was primo, and this album is no different, so at least they went out on a high note.

Ceremony is a somewhat obscure band, at least to me, because they formed in 1989 and their total output from '89 to 2018 was 2 demos, 1 EP, and a full-length in 1993. I didn't become aware of them until 2019 with this release, and I have to admit that I haven't listened to this a lot over the past 6 years but it is a good album and worthy of attention.

This version here was originally from Louisiana, but now resides in Fort Worth, Texas, and they have consistently cranked out some heavy brutality over the years. For my tastes, their best album so far was in 2011 with Don't Fuckin' Mess With Texas, but I am hoping we can get something new from these guys soon.
