From my perspective, SOH is a somewhat obscure French death metal band that I didn't become aware of until 2022, even though they had an effective 2015 debut. Now, this is their first output since, and it sounds different but still quite good.

Voorhees is a band that I have primarily ignored over the years, and I am not sure why, because they have always received a lot of praise around here from various people, and I am discovering that it is well justified. I've been listening to all 3 of the albums I've posted here today, and they are all very good. Don't be a stubborn old fool like me and miss out on these guys, they create some killer music.

I first heard Impureza back in 2011 when I found their La iglesia del odio album. I listened to it a few times and kinda liked their use of flamenco guitar in death metal, but then I lost track of the band for many years. The newest release from Creeping Fear came out about 4 weeks ago, and I have only had a chance to listen to it a couple of times, but I feel that it falls nicely in line with their past output. Even with a few line-up changes they remain a good and consistent band.

There was so much good music released in November of '24 and this new album by StabWounD is a perfect example of that fact. I was really into this band 10 years ago, but had mainly forgotten about them since they hadn't released anything other than a single in more than a decade. When CarlG mentioned them at the time this dropped I didn't listen to it right away, but I am thoroughly enjoying it now. Recommended!

Not to be confused with the US band Scumbag from New York who also released a good album in October last year, these guys are plural and from Tours, France. I really like this album, their style is labeled as death metal/hardcore, but I am not hearing a heavy dose of hardcore it is just death metal to me.
