Corrosive Agent is a new German band who, based on their bio, recorded, mixed & mastered this album themselves, and they got a great sound. Proof that there is no need to have shitty sound quality in the production, like many bands are getting nowadays. These guys play what I would call modern melodic death groove, and I'm mostly liking it. Some parts are a bit slow, and the songs can tend to drag, but the band's heavier side is interesting and appealing to me, so I keep listening. I would say this disc is worth checking out if you're open to the progressive/melodic slant in their style.

Here is the newest release from this OG moniker in German death metal, Resurrected. I think these tracks represent the band very well, quite entertaining for my tastes. Only 1 original member is remaining, but it has been that way for a very long time now, with the 3 core members being together for ~14 years \m/\m/

These guys had a very good debut album back in 2022, and now here they are in 2026 with the follow-up, and I'm impressed. I haven't thoroughly listened to a lot of the new releases yet, but this is one of my current favorites for the year so far. They aren't doing anything particularly unique, but I do like what they've created here, all the way down to the cover of Dismember's Casket Garden at the end.

Killer old-school speed metal from Mannheim, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. On this album, Cruel Force has captured the essence of what this style should sound like. The drum and guitar sound is perfectly captured in the recording and works to transport the listener back to the 80's heyday of speed metal. This is recommended for any true fan of the genre.

Gomorrha is a band that CarlG has promoted pretty heavily around here over the past few years, and if you know his tastes, then you probably already know that this will be traditional, straight-up, no-frills death metal. There is nothing wrong with that when it is done well, and these guys do it well. Another very good album from 2025.

 CarlG recently mentioned in the chat that Anasarca has a new album due out this year. Their first release since this album in 2017. I was very excited for this album and purchased a physical copy, and then my first impression was that it was different from what I anticipated. Still, after all of the years that had passed since Dying in 2004, it was/is still a very good offering.
