I was sitting in a bar in Singapore back in 2011 talking to a local guy about death metal, and he was telling me about their scene. At the time, the only bands I knew from there were Psycho and Absence of the Sacred, but now with Oshiego, Margyyah and a couple of others, there is a decent death metal base growing there.
