Tonight I consulted with Chris from Big Brother and he recommended this band called The Infested because of their Pogues cover which is particularly timely this year. The show will be up on the blog some time this week. Next week, we will have a special punk party kind of a soundtrack for you to ring in the New Year. All punk classics very little talk. This week's show is the annual x-mas show hosted by Dave Stevenson (Emissions Records). The playlist features unique songs about christmas by punk bands, and punk covers of x-mas carols. There is a tradition on EXD started with Pete Genest from Hits and Misses. When Pete left the city Dave Stevenson stepped up with his love for punk Christmas songs. Dave works throughout the year finding new songs and pairing songs in sets and giving everything thorough listens.I come across Christmas songs and send them to Dave but Dave curates and programs and ingests these songs.  This year is no exception to the no duplicates code we live by and there are a lot of great unheard of punk songs to show listeners. Here is the annual X-Mas show on EXD. Punk songs about Christmas and the season or associated with the season. The show is hosted by one of the most ravenous christmas song collectors in Toronto. Dave KW, Dave used to sing in Dirty BS and in Oxbaker, but Dave spends a lot of time now collecting punk rock Christmas songs which are evident from his inability to put together different material every year. Pete from Hits and Misses has a love for the novelty of punk christmas songs. Some of this novelty wore off on Dave from Dirty BS. This is the second year in a row that Dave has hosted the christmas special on EXD bringing songs that haven't aired before or in a while. He also played a Bishops Green song that Pete requested last year, which is sort of a haunting from the ghost of x-mss show's in the past. There was lots of back story to the songs chosen in the spirit of story telling that comes with this part of the year. The Angry Snowmans do a tribute to the Subhumans.
