This interview started out with some airplay that Rob programmed. I shared airplay notices with bands and Chris Barry replied saying he was glad that people are still interested. I asked him about an interview which came together quickly. This is the first time we have added bleeps to an interview. The station has become sensitive to the issue of profanity which is largely the result of an interpretation of CRTC guidelines. We are doing are best to comply. Number Stations 
A while back when the G-MEN were in to do a studio 3 session Mopa started talking to me about Number Stations which occupy a frequency on the short wave band and are usually run by governments as a way of communicating code to agents in the field. But the mics weren't recording because this was one of those after interview conversations. But I never forgot about them. So a few weeks ago when I was catching up with Mopa Dean about Armed and Hammered, I had him explain to me what number stations are. Here's a primer on that subject.

Ryan and Matt from Wrong Generation joined us to talk about the merits of the Studio 3 sessions. Greg Benedetto echoed those sentiments and gave us a brief rundown on the Not Dead Yet fest. Aldo spoke to us about the DVDs and the importance of recording these sessions on a video format. The Blue Demon spoke to us about the importance of the history of the scene. Dhaibid James announced that we would start broadcasting Maximumrocknroll radio starting next week on Monday mornings from 2:00am til 3:00am. We paid tribute to Sam's book with a set. Sam Sutherland is a writer for Exclaim Magazine that initially started writing a book on Canadian punk back in 2006 when he was studying journalism at Ryerson University. Since then he has travelled across the country tracing down the participants who were around back in the late 70's to talk to him about this cultural explosion known as punk that took place in every major city across Canada. Sam connects the dots between punk and loads of major cultural developments in this country. The radio interview is too long and cuts off but you can listen to it with all the background music.
