It's been a week of hanging out with the Sluts. Sluts on 45 are a great new punk rock party band that take the piss out of the K-Tel like invention of the Hooked on 45 series in name only, but they certainly have a good time playing punk rock with some underlying empowering messages, but never at the expense of having fun. The band features Sue "Powerpipes" Brazen on vocals, Shawna from Torawna on guitar, Kraeg Deezkust (who couldn't make it out to the live interview) on bass, and Matt "Sticks" Frazer on drums. They were in on Tuesday to record a session and came in on this show for a live radio grilling, which was more like a get to know ya session. The band also brought in some new studio recordings like Twitchy's rendition of "Waltz me Dirty" and the new recording for "Brown Liquor" which has Zero doing backing vocals. We talked about how the started, some of the sows they have played, the recordings they have been involved in, the video for "Let's Party" and a host of other antics. Rehashed "Code Black" CD

REHASHED is another crossover band fronted by Mike from DFA. REHASHED produce the same kind of blazing crossover that brought attention to DFA. Just manic crushing riff riding in the spirit of BEYOND POSSESSION, except this time there isn’t a bunch of other bands doing the same kind of hardcore. But I think it helped bring DFA back out of early retirement. Damn this continues to be great. Stop on a dime thrash that just pummels the listener.
