As covid numbers increase especially in our provinces run by conservative governments, I came across a song that fit the mood from a province under a lot of scrutiny, Alberta.

Feature on the "In Solidarity with the Refugees of Moria camp" compilation. The refugee camp was burned to the ground. 160 Greek bands pulled this comp together to fulfill the basic humanitarian requirements for these refuguees. Feature on the "Know Your Enemy, Volume II" compilation is a compilation out of the Philippines pulled together in opposition to a Terrorism Act that was brought in by the current administration to crack down on opposition groups, be they political parties, media outlets or punk bands. 116 Filipino bands represented on this compilation from home and in the diaspora.

In the beginning of the "Notes from behind the iron Curtain" series I never thought we would do a show on the Russian scene. Alexander Herbert, author of "What About Tomorrow: An Oral History on Russian Punk" was in town at the end of September and pulled together this show based on his years of figuring out what he could on the Russian punk scene. Alex talks about Distemper and this important moment where they confront nazis on Russian radio so I added them as an opening song. Here is a download for the show.
