Christmas Haul 2022

 

As we near the end of 2022, I thought I'd share a wargaming Xmas Haul.

Each year as a family we give out a list of wants and needs to family and friends to buy something.

I did pretty good this year with all my wants and needs being bought for me!

Proud Dad moment first though, when my 4 daughters get together I always get the camera out and try and grab a few pics of them before they start to hide their faces and moan at me, this year they beat me too it and took the pic themselves and gave it to me for Xmas.

Xmas Haul 2021

 

One last post for the year, I thought I'd share my Wargames Christmas haul with you all.

My 2 eldest daughters Emily and Abi bought me the figures above. They're all from The Assault Group's Polish Renaissance range. They're mostly Haiduks and will make up the majority of infantry for my Polish Donnybrook army. I will need to get a few more packs to top up the units, hopefully they'll make it in time to be painted up in the Challenge.

My two youngest daughters Holly and Nieve bought me the three books above. I actually bought them from fellow blogger and wheeler dealer Dave Crook and collected them at Salute. Then handed them over to the girls to wrap up for me for xmas. So I've only just had a chance to flick through them.

So I've got some cleaning up to do and lots of reading too!

2020 Xmas Haul

 

I think I did rather well over Christmas?

13 packs of Trent Miniatures with a few packs of spare heads!!

These of course are for my Haitian Revolution adventure, the plan is to get these painted up during

the Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge? Fingers crossed!!

There are a few British Cavalry units, which look very different to the ones you'd expect, can't wait to get them painted up.

My only other wargaming esq pressie was Every Bullet Has Its Billet by Barry Hilton, from 

Helion & Company. I've only had a quick flick at the moment, but very much like what I see!

One thing I will say though, I was pleasantly surprised by its size, its not the normal Osprey sized Helion book we've all come to now and love, but its more magazine sized, which helps my ever dodgy eyes. no end!

The Christmas card above was sent 100 years ago by one of the First World War’s most heroic tank officers Elliot Hotblack. He sent the simple card from ‘Advance Headquarters Tank Corps’ in December 1917, presumably to his parents in Norfolk.It includes a print of a crewman waving his cap from a Mark IV tank beneath the words “Christmas Greetings”.

Secret Santa, Santa Claus & Xmas Pressies

Seems this Xmas I've gone all Native!

Above is my Secret Santa pressie, some Warlord Games Woodland Bowman

and Magua with some rather nice foliage to boot!

I do know who ordered these beauties for me as their name was on the receipt inside, so a huge thanks goes to him! (No names mentioned!)

Magua makes a second appearance in my Santa Claus pressie along with him a rather festive 

Native, dragging a Xmas tree back to camp!

Thank you very much goes to my Santa Claus, these will be great additions to my up and coming

excursion to North American Donnybrook.

Lastly a great pressie from daughters 1 & 2, Emily and Abi.

They always have trouble buying their poor Dad a pressie for Xmas.

We have more Warlord Native bowmen, Miami Indians and for the third and final

time we have Magua, I may have to  do a bit of conversion work, me thinks??

Also 2 packs of Perry Indians from their AWI range, bowmen and muskets.

Guess what I'll be painting for the Challenge?
