Cavalier 2026 - Loot!

Better late than never, I thought I'd share a few photos of the loot I collected at Cavalier Wargames Show at the end of February.

Firstly some reinforcements for my Parkfield Miniatures, WWII Finnish army I'm in the middle of painting up. Two sets of machine gun teams, one firing and one moving.

Next up some Barbed wire from Last Man Last Bullet, again for my Finns.

A random purchase, a French team for, cough, Not Silver Bullet. I might be able to use some for my and Lee's Retreat from Moscow armies. I've not yet had the time to match the figures up size wise with my collection.  But they sure are nice sculpts. and sorry, but I can't work out which company I bought them from, they sold loads of beautiful 3D printed buildings, anyone know?

From the Bring n Buy I bought my 2nd copy of Black Powder, even though I've never played the game. Why 2nd copy you ask? Well the first, I bought on ebay without realising it was A5 sized. The writing is so small, I can't read it even with my goggles on!

Well, We need the rules for the Finns! Lee wanted to use Bolt Action over Chain of Command, only coz he thinks he can get more hits on his you tube channel, the tart!

And with the rules, I got this free figure of Francis S Currey.

From Products for Wargamers, I picked up these 2 hills.

And some magnetic sheeting.

Picked this Osprey up, from one stall, how didn't I know about this book?

I spent a few quid at Debris of War as I always do. Yes more trees as well. But thus time they're for my 15mm collections.

Lastly more from Debris of War. 25mm hedges, which I want to cut up and make bushes and some 15mm hedges as well to add to my ever growing collection.

And that my friends, is that!

The Other Partizan.......Loot

It must admit, I was quite surprised rummaging through the Loot I collected at The Other Partizan last weekend. I knew I'd bought a few bags of stuff, but didn't realise how much!!!

Firstly the last 4 trees from the Last Valley stall.

I wanted the unpainted version, but Coritani had sold out, so I had to have the painted version.
Why an Anciet Greek ruin you ask???

And why all the loose columns???
Well.......my 10 years old nephew loves Greek Mythology, so I'm gonna paint up some bits for him, and lead him up the wargaming garden path, well hopefully anyway?
I also picked up a few paints from Coritani as well.

A bit of a mixture here, all from those great chaps from Warbases. Firstly more wagon's for the Retreat from Moscow, paints, some magnetized bases, for the Greek Mythology project and a new knife. I've somehow misplaced my favourite knife during the move a few months ago. It';; probably turn up now I've bought a new one?

A random buy, this chap used to frighten the life outta me when I was a kid, the Child Catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!!
He may come in handy during the up and coming Painting Challenge?

I'd not seen these before? a wagon and outhouse from Warlord, they were a bit pricey tbh, but I thought I'd give them a go, Skytrex did have loads of other great looking buildings from Warlord, but I'd need a 2nd mortgage to buy any of them.

The previously mentioned Greeks from Foundry, I bought Jason and the Argonauts and Hercules and the Argonauts. to fight them I bought two packs of Skeleton's , who spring out of the ground when the Hydra's teeth are thrown into the dirt. Also a pack of Gods, including the big man himself.
Also yet another wagon, this time from Iron Gate Scenery and some scenery from Ironclad Miniatures.

Four building from the Tree Fella, all 3D printed, me and Lee bought 3 damaged building at the last Partizan.

Unfortunately one of the roofs is wrong and doesn't match the building.
Arrgghh!

They should look pretty decent with a lick of paint on.

At the bring and buy I bought another 2 buildings, a ruined stables.

With a removable roof

Which should fit into my Donnybrook collection very well.

From the same guy I also picked up this medieval/tudor house

Again this should fit into the Donnybrook era.

And the roof comes off too!

Next up and also from the Bring & Buy, this medieval house.

It was only when I took the photos for this post I realised that the building doesn't have a door!!!
So I'll have to add one, if I ever get around to it, that is?

From the same guy I bought these 4 ECW buildings, the chap, carefully placed all 4 an the previous building in a box, as he lifted the box all 5 building fell out of the bottom, smashing one into firwood!!

The offending building is now all glued together and will need a little touch up as there were a few pieces missing.

Well I think I did rather well, don't you?

Broadside Loot!

I bought a fair bit of scenery at Broadside this year. I spent a few quid at the most excellent Debris of War, adding another 7 of their excellent trees to my growing collection

Along with 5 of their pond bases, I'm going to try and winter a few of these up for my and Lee's Retreat from Moscow shenanigans!

£40 for 19 packs of Minifigs Ottoman Turks. I would really like to add some Turks to my 15mm LOA armies, it'd be great to play the Siege of Vienna in 15mm. I've already got loads of figures in 28mm for Donnybrook, so why not an army for Beneath the Lilly Banners ass well??? Of course I'd need some Poles as well........

The Flea market was a great success, I bought all this lot above, from one chap, some of which I'll winter up

And these 3 hills, which I might winter up or might not???

I also picked these up for the quite ridiculous price of £25 for the pair!!!! I've very often ogled these and other in the range at shows on the Pike & Shot Society stall. I already own the Spanish and one of the Dutch books, they are a must for the period. I nearly fell over when I saw the price!!!
They're usually £50 each.

The last thing I bought again from the Flea Market was a pack of Foundry Pirates for the measly sum of £2, they're now £18 a pack. I previously used a lot of these figures when painting up my Haitian Revolution project, most were converted into Haitians.

Lee was winging that he wanted to buy something. I've been buying a few trees here and there for us to winter up for our Retreat from Moscow game, I saw these earlier in the day, so suggested to Lee to open his moth filled wallet and buy some of these trees from Pumpernickle Games.

We're hoping to meet up next week and do a days work on all the terrain we've bought, hopefully we can get a lot done in the day???

Partizan 25 Loot

Bit late in posting my loot collection from Partizan, I'm afraid. Life has just done it's best to stop my fun. Although my fun starts again tomorrow in a different form. My two youngest, Mrs R and myself are all off on holiday for a week in sunny Cyprus.

Anyway onto the loot, there's not a lot as you can see, I barely got around the show, let alone buy much.

Got some casualty counters from Warbases along with the three packs of random pond shapes. A couple of trees from the Tree man, I would have bought more but these were the last 2! Bought 4 trees from the Last Valley along with some river sections for my and Lee's Retreat from Moscow shenanigans. No pics of those I'm afraid. We need to give them the Reject magic to try and match them to our bases. Ice sprinkles? Saw a video on YouTube about making ice. So I thought we'd give it a go on our river sections.

Lastly a deck of Sharp Practice cards......so all in all a reasonable haul of loot, me thinks?

Cheers

Cavalier 2025 Loot

I picked up loads of loot from Cavalier last Sunday, including these marvelous trees from Debris of War!!
I'd not seen these thin tall trees before, so I bought the lot!

The rest!!

Some plastic horses from Conquest Games, ok they're Norman horses, but its 'orses for courses in my book!

A wagon from Iron Gate, I can see this covered in snow?

A bargain from the Bring n Buy, no greatcoats though, better buy more greenstuff?

This one seems apt for my current project?

I'll give them a read, maybe it won't be Volly and Bayonet for my WSS after all?

Very boring, Black, White and Grey

And lastly another bargain from the Bring n Buy, I couldn't resist these for £25. A bit in ink, rebasing and I'll have another 2 Guard units. Did I actually need them???
No, of course not.
But I couldn't help myself!

And that's the lot!
Cheers
