5 Million Visiting Fans Can't Be Wrong

or Can They?

Its a big Elvis ah-hah-hah! to you all!!

(I used this pic back in 2011, when my blog reached 50,000 hits, I thought it was pretty apt to bring it back again)

Earlier this week, Don't Throw a 1 tipped over the 5 Million visit mark,

which is bloody mental!

A big thank you to everyone over the last 16 years who bothered to come and visit

my little corner of the wargaming world, I appreciate you all.

I started my blog way back in 2010, just to keep a record of what I was painting and as a reminder of  the games we played. Because of the blog I've met loads of new friends both in the flesh and online, all who have that love for wargaming. So thank you.....

Happy BlogBirthdday to me - 15 years of Don't Throw a 1!!!!

 

I cannot believe I've been boring you all to tears for 15 years now???

It all started out in 2010, me and Fran were having a chat at work about starting up a blog, just to catalogue our games and what we were painting at the time, Fran's blog The Angry Lurker has lain dormant since 2019,  after he buggered off,  back to Ireland, had mega internet problems and basically gave up, but you're in luck, I'm still going strong!

I've 869 official Followers

1187 posts

3,722,132 visits, thank you bots and spammers!

& 44725 Comments, although half of those are me answering you guys!

What's your favorite post, from Don't Throw a 1?

Its pretty obvious that most of my top posts are from years ago, back to when Blogs were THE place to go for what's called "Content" nowadays. Personally, I think Blogs are still a very valid part of our wargaming world, but they certainly have been overtaken by Podcasts and Vlogs.

So I just wanted to thank everyone who visits my little corner of our great hobby, and I look forward to my next 15 years blogging......I hope!

I just noticed that "Don't Throw a 1" has just passed the unbelievable 3 million hit mark!!!

This is just a quick thank you to everyone who takes the time to visit my little corner of the Blogosphere, whether they comment or not.

10 years of Don't throw a 1!!!

Unbelievable!!!

Today is Don't Throw a 1's 10th Birthday!

Where the hell did those 10 years go?

My first post all that time ago was on Nine Years War Huguenot flags 1184 hits (click link) at the time it created a hell of a lot of interest, receiving absolutely no comments what-so-ever, (I did pick up a few over the years though).

In the 10 years I've manged to post 794 posts, which is an average of 79 posts per year,  not bad going? I've have a total of 834 Blog Followers and I've had a whopping 2,279.804 individual visits to my blog! 

 

My top 5 posts are as follows

If I had to pick 1 post as my favourite its got to be a 15mm Napolonic battle report  The Battle of Hal 1815,  from back in 2012.

Me and Big Lee were chatting again about the game the other night saying what an utter disaster it was for the French side. Give it a read, its quite ridiculous what happened, if anything It'll make you laugh!!

This is what's great about the blog, we're all getting older, the memory seems be be going, if it wasn't for the blog, I wouldn't be able to rub salt into Lee, Fran and Smithy's nose every now and them.

So I'd advise any gamer to get themselves a blog, its a great help to the hobby.

Once again I just want to say thank you to all my followers, people who take the time and effort to commenters and to all the readers who just like to come and read my guff and look at the pictures!

.
