AHPC16 Donnybrook - Vienna 1683 - 25mm Polish Dragoons

"Once again the Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge is well and truly over, this post was originally posted here, on the 18th March and I've still got a lot of catching up to do with other Challenge posts."

Ray

Well, it wouldn't be a proper Painting Challenge with one of my Donnybrook entries now would it?
So just to keep you all happy.....here's one!!!

My green coated Polish Dragoons were prepped and undercoated at the start of Challenge 12 in 2021!!!
Isn't that bad that its taken me until now to put some paint on them?

My 9 Polish Dragoons, painted up for my Donnybrook Allied Army for the Relief of Vienna in 1683.
Check out my last post from March 2022, where I painted some Polish Command figures.

The figures are from Reiver Castings and were a joy to paint.

I'll be using the chap in the centre holding his pistol in the air as their Commander.

These 9 figures will give me 90 points.

Then we also have the dismounted version of the Dragoons.

Unfortunately at the time Reiver didn't have a dismounted Polish Dragoon figure, (not sure if they ever did get them made?)
So I had to fall back to my old favourites, Essex Miniatures.

As you can see, my leader is wearing a clock on the dismounted version and not on the mounted version.
I could have sculpted a cloak on the mounted version, but couldn't be arsed!!!

And here they are all together, the 45 points for the foot figures will be added to the 90 points for the mounted giving me a total of 135 points!!

AHPC14 - Last Post ! Donnybrook Generals - Vienna 1683

After my Salute shenanigans, I'm going back to 18th March, when I originally posted these up on the

Well its finally here, the last few hours of the Challenge.

I shall finish with these two Reiver Castings Generals.

Both will be used for my evergrowing, never finishing Donnybrook love affair.

The chap on the left is still a tad shiny, because the varnish isn't dry yet.

An Austrian General in the uniform of regt Lothringen, from my previous post

And last but not least for this year, the General of the Bavarian Arco Horse.

2 x 25mm Cavalry
An easy 20pts

Phew!

Well done to one and all.

AHPC 12 Corsucant/Imperial - Imperial Austrain Curassier regt

From the Vogshere and my Clergy its a quick trip to my last planet on the middle ring.
My trip takes me to Corsucant where I'll be using the Imperial tagline  to get my next Donnybrook fix.

The Imperial tag turns into an  Imperial Austrian Cuirassier regt

The regiment is that of Conte Aenas Silvio Caprara who took over as the head of the regt in 1663.

The regt was raised in 1629 and  formally known as Piccolomini d'Aragona, the Duca d'Amalfi, before being taken over by Luigi Geronimo Conte Caprara in 1656.
In 1683 they were in camp at Pressburg in Hungry, then were called to be part of the relief force at Vienna.

The figures are from Reiver Castings and the flag is from the book Uniforms and Flags of the Imperial Austrian Army 1683-1720, by Robert Hall and Giancarlo Boeri. Sadly unavailable from the Pike & Shot Society.

As for the points....
8 x 25mm Cavalry figures @ 10 pts each = 80 points
20 points for the Corsucant Bonus
Total 100 pts

Salute Loot 2021

Its lucky I've entered another Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge.
Where would I have found the time to paint this lot up otherwise?

Above Debris of War Grass Tufts
You can never have enough tufts!

25mm round bases from Warbases
Need I say more?

Dead and Prisoners figures from Col Bill, got something in mind for these chaps already
& 2 of the same figure Prince Rupert  from Bicorne. Don't ask.....

A pre-order from Warfare minis!

Cossacks, Imperial Cuirassiers and new commanders.

Do I need more commanders?
Or do I want more commanders?

Wagon wheels, from Eagle Figures (for the same plan I have with the Col Bill figures) and
and table and bench and a fantasy (yeh I know) figure, incase I need something like that for the Challenge from Encounter Terrain

A few more packs from Trent Miniatures.
Just to make up a couple more units.......he says!

Hmmm more new command figures, this time from Reiver/Northumberland Painting Services . Commanders and characters for my Austian/Imperialist troops????
As well as some Austrian Grenadiers

Polish Winged Hussars and Pancerni from Redoubt Enterprises!!!!!!!

These are really nice figures, can't wait to get them painted.

And finally a 6 x 4 cloth mat from Geek Villain!
I've been after a mat of some kind for a while, we got a bargain , me and Lee bought a mat each and got a little discount.

And that's your lot!

AHPC11 - Donnybrook - Jacobite's and their Flags

I think I have a problem?
Yes, I do own a secret Scottish Jacobite army for Donnybrook!!!
But I had no standard bearers, so.........

Cameron of Lochiel's a Redoubt figure

Another Cameron flag, this time a Reiver Casting figure.

Another Reiver Casting carrying the McDonald of Clanranald flag

Finally a Reiver figure carrying the St Andrews Cross

All the brilliant flags come from that giant of a flag maker Sir Iain of McDonald at  Flags of War

Here we have a Warlord figure representing Alisdair 'The Devastator' Mac Colla

From Warlord
"This is Warlord's take on perhaps the most dangerous man in the British Isles at the time...Alasdair MacColla "The Devastator", a man who went by many names, some rarely used out loud! This legendary Highland warrior came from the Isles and grew famous for his startling strength, size and ferocity..."

Most of my Scottish force are Redoubt figures, which a on the larger side of large, so this Warlord figure fits is really well, he'll be used as a character or commander.

So 4 x 25mm figures will add a further 25 points to my total.

AHPCX - Sarah's Baloon Ride - Mrs M and baby Thorin

Its time for my second ride on Sarah's Balloon, my fee is this Reiver Castings (I think) figure of a mother holding her baby. So in honour of fellow Challenger TomM, and his
new arrival may I present

Mrs M and Thorin.

My journey in Sarah's Balloon will hopefully  take me from Sander's Sandhill to Piper's Peak.

We've had no water at the brewery since Monday morning, which is bad news for a brewery, so no new beer and no Tea either, and certainly no Champagne, so I've had to put up with some good ol' Adam's Ale instead for my Balloon ride!

30 points for the Balloon ride and another 5 for the figure.

AHPC9 Donnybrook - Reiver Castings Militia

 Oh look, yet more Donnybrook!!!!
I do like it when you can have versatile figures, and that's exactly what these are.

The figures are from Reiver Castings, and can be purchased here.
For the princely sum of £11

They can and hopefully will be used in the following armies.
Monmouth's Rebels
King Phillip's War Militia
&
Irish Rapparees

These 10  bad boys were worth 5 points each so earned me 50 points.
