The Battle of Amiens, 1918 Demo Game

I thought it was about time I put a few photo's of The Battle of Amiens demo game that Posties Rejects, put on at Broadside in June. Fran's moaning at me for putting more pics on of the show, the miserable git!!
You can already see a few pics on Fran and BigLee's blogs, but here's my version of what happened during the game.

The Canadians advance.

Some of the Germans troops come out of their dugouts, while other remain in place.

The Germans skulking in their trenches.

The French infantry started a little closer than we'd previously played.

Some very nice targets for German off table artillery???

I shouldn't have just said that??? A direct hit on Richard's "Willy" and it bites the dust!!

Then another tank, suffers a Partial Breakdown, and will move again on turn 6!!!!!! If at all!!!

Hercules makes it to the barbed wire.

Sylvia receives a direct hit and blows up!

The race up the road.

The German trenches are looking a little thinner.

The French Infantry are nearly there!!

The French aren't taking a lot of casualties.

The German machine guns stand up and give fire......perhaps a little too late???
The French advance in a nice pretty line!!!

The French Scout cars take some hits.

The artillery fire template, placed so it may hit as many of our tanks and men as possible!!
A German heavy Machine Guns tries and fails to hit the advancing French Infantry.

Hercules reaches the trenches, this caused the whole German army to take a morale check, if they failed the whole army would retreat.....they passed!

Another Canadian tank reached the wire, were it promptly broke down for the rest of the game!!!

The next turn was the end for the Germans as Fran reached the back trench causes what was left of the
 German Army to run!

The Rejects & Broadside 2012

The Rejects got together last weekend to playtest our game that we'll be demonstrating at Broadside 2012 this Sunday. As you can probably tell from the photo above the game is from WWI. We will be trying to
re-enact part of the Battle of Amiens in 1918.
In the playtest game we all played the part that we will be playing in the demo game, without giving too much away you can see my tanks took a pounding from the massed German artillery. It was a damned hard slog getting across the field, but you'll have to wait to find out if we made it or not. I just hope that John who was on the German side keeps up his wonderful dice throwing skills. Five 1's on the trot is a Reject record, he he he!!!
Hopefully we'll see some of you there!!!!

We'll be hiding in the red circle.
