AHPC11 - Chamber of Challenge - The Laboratory - The Doctor 25pts

The Laboratory: From bubbling glass jars to smoking bunsen-burners, from Dr Frankenstein’s experimentation chamber to a alchemist’s study - laboratories and scientific figures, terrain and vignettes are the things created in this Challenge Chamber.

Who works in a Laboratory? A Doctor of course.

So I plumped for the first Doctor, who's from Black Tree Designs Dr Who range.

William Hartnell played Dr Who from 1963 until 1966.

Points are easy 5 points for the Doctor and another 20 for the bonus round.

Dr Who & Martha Jones - Airfix

My pal Keir asked me to have a go and paint up these two massive Dr Who figures, his good lady wife glued the figures together, then I put them in my locker at work and completely forgot all about them. Move forward in time far longer than I care to admit, when
Keir piped up " Are you gonna paint my Dr Who figures"
"Eh? What Dr Who fig.....oh shit yeh??

So here they are, they're 1/12 monsters from Airfix, they do come with the Tardis as well, but Keir must still have that. I'm quite pleased with how Mr Tennant came out, but Martha needs a little more work, the skins a little too dark and them bloody eyes nearly killed me!!!
But Keir seemed very happy with them

PS

Salute tomorrow!!!! yeeehaaaawww!!
On nights at the moment, will be home at 6 in the morning and up again at 8
just to go to the show!!
Must be mad!!

The Doctor and Pond

My pal Keir has been moaning and groaning for months, "When are you gonna put my Dr Who figures on your blog!!" So I've finally given in and posted them.
For his birthday earlier in the year me and Fran, bought Keir, a non-wargaming Dr Who nut, a few figures for his shelf. Fran painted The Doctor figure, but I had to re-base and re-paint some bits as they weren't the correct colours, now I don't know whose to blame here, they're both blaming each other, so I'm claiming painting credit!! Amy was a difficult paint, I just couldn't get her ginger, (yes ginger Fran!!) hair to look right, but I'm happy how it turned out in the end. Both the figures come from Heresy Miniatures, but I can't remember who made the Tardis model??? Any ideas??
I've previously posted Keir's Daleks that I painted up here.

Keir, the Dr Who Nut!
I'd just told him I was turning Dr Who off the TV

25mm Daleks

My mate Keir is a Dr Who freak, he brought in some of the unpainted Daleks that he got free with a Dr Who magazine, the one's that we've all seen floating around various blogs over the last couple of weeks. As I painted up the Tardis for him last year he asked if I could paint the 5 Daleks above, they looked quite easy so I agreed. How wrong was I?? Tthey took ages to get finished, the silver dots were the problem, to paint the main colour I had to apply several thin layers of paint to each figure, to stop the paint clogging and cracking around the dots. Then I painted the dots black as per the photo I'd found on a Dr Who website, only for Keir to have stroppy meltdown saying that the dots were supposed to be silver, sigh!!!!
He also has a Dr Who figure, from Heresy painted by my good friend The Angry Lurker, as well as the Tardis, which both are based up, so I had to figure out how to base them, after several false starts I went with the spacship floor look, which is just Vallejo Gunmetal Grey, but I think it looks quite effective.
Also while I was just finishing the last Dalek, I had a request from Keir's wife Susan, could she have her own purple Dalek!! Out came the paints again!!! So we have the very first girlie Dalek, who looks ravashing in her purple gown.
