Haitian Revolution - 25mm MDF Buildings

Since the end of the Challenge back in March, I've been trying to get some buildings made for my Donnybrook excursion and also for the Haitian Revolution. I did initially want to scratch build some after watching countless hours of "How to" videos on You Tube,  but as a start I thought it best to buy some MDF buildings. I found a guy on ebay John Banks, who makes an extensive range of MDF buildings in all sizes from 6mm to 28mm, all being very cheap. Sounded good to me!

4Ground do a great Pirate Cove set, basically a Caribbean port, which to me fits in perfectly with how Haiti or Saint- Domingue as it was known would have looked like. They make a set of small Port buildings and when I saw these 28mm Garden Sheds, I had to have them and for only £5.50 for the three of them!!

They fit together pretty easy and I kept the decoration pretty basic. The middle building was covered in a thin coating of polyfilla and painted white. The other two, I threw in a handful of sand to a mix of grey emulsion paint and slapped it all over. Easy!

I haven't yet as you can see painted the inside of the building and may not bother. The roof was made from some corrugated card cut into tiles and glued on with PVA. I was stuck with how to paint them as I only had a small amount of Vallejo Cavalry Brown, so I used the next best thing, I've got a big tin of Red Masonry paint after decorating the front of my house during lockdown. So I used that, I've got enough to last a lifetime!

So there we have them, the first of my buildings for Saint-Domigue!

The are 4 character figures plus the 20 USAF Troops are up for sale on Ebay for £21.99

RP No 104 28mm Gripping Beast Viking & Jomviking Warlords - For sale

Another two items up for sale on ebay at the moment, these figures are from Gripping Beast from their Saga range. Both these figures nearly ended thrown out of the window, in a tantrum  I was not a happy chappie. I'll start he first figure, the Viking Warlord, the base of the figure was quite distorted and the figure wouldn't stand up, so out came the knife and the pliers. As a very carefully started to bend the base straight, plop! the figure broke off at the ankle! Queue lots of swearing and ranting and lots of superglue.
So I moved onto the next figure the Jomviking Warlord, I took it out of the box and started to clean the tiny bits of flash off the base....hang on a minute? where's his sword? The quick answer was still in the damned blister pack, well half of it anyway!!! Queue more ranting and raving and laughter from the Irish git in the corner.
So the next day I shoved the figure on figure fixer extraordinaire  Posties lap with an in-ordable grunt, the next day he gave the figure back the broken sword had been replaced with a fine looking axe, very nice!
So you'd think that was the end of the story but no! I'd just finished painting the Jomviking up. all he needed was a couple of coats of varnish, I picked him up to varnish him and he fell out of my hand and landed on the other axe bending it right over, I cannot repeat what I said, but I bet you can guess? I gingerly bent the axe back over, the paint cracked all over the handle then snapped off...........
Anyway, he's all fixed now.
They're both up for sale on ebay,  superglue and new weapons an' all!!!

RP No 101 - Superhero's, Power Girl, Dr Strange and The Spectre - For Sale

Postie picked these up at Skirmish Wargame Show back in September, I hadn't a clue what or who they were, and how to paint them up, so a quick plea for help on TMP and voila! Loads of info!
The first figure is a representation of Powergirl, its quite a good likeness especially you know what!
Here's a link to the Ebay list.

Then we have a representation of Dr Strange, again a very good representation.

Lastly The Spectre, another good representation, but this figure has a staff when The Spectre doesn't, I did consider cutting it off, but then his hand would look a little strange poking out like Larry Grayson.

The original pack, now well out of production.

RP No 99 WSS Generals

No 99 on the recently painted blog posts, I actually painted these a good couple of weeks ago and have been busy painting more NYW figures for myself and other bits and bobs for Ebay.
These 3 fine looking fellows are from Black Hat's WSS range, I originally bought these for myself, I was going to do a little conversion work on them and use them for the NYW, but in the end I couldn't be bothered as I had tons of the blighters already. So these were painted up pretty generically, they could be used for French, German or any of the countries involved in the War of the Spanish Succession as Generals seemed to where what they wanted too. Hopefully they will end up in somebody else's collection!
The pics aren't the best, but you get the gist....I hope!
To view them on Ebay click this link. here
I know most of you reading this paint your own figures, but if your interested in me painting some of your figures just drop me a line.
