Haitian Revolution - French 5th Legere

I haven't painted many figures since the end of the last Challenge in March, its been more of a making buildings faze. I did have these undercoated and started the paint job, but ran out of time. So the painting table needed to be cleared to make way for the next Painting Challenge that starts next month.

The figures are painted up to represent the French 5th Light Infantry or Legere.
They were one of the first units sent out to Santo Domingo when the troubles first occurred.

There was another Legere unit sent out a little latter in 1802, the 11th, so at a push they could double up as them.

The figures are from Trent Miniatures, bought from Arcane Miniatures, but can only be bought from either Warlord or Skytrex now.

I was a little stumped at what their flag should be or even if they actually carried one. Reject Richard is into the Revolutionary period having his own collection of French and Austrians (soon to be seen at Broadside show next month) and looked through his books, the 5th Legere were made up from men of the Department du Var 1st Battalion. So they're carrying their flag, makes sense to me! And it looks rather nice as well.

AHPC11 - Ottoman Commanders - Trent Miniatures

What? More Ottomans?
I'm afraid so!
These two figures were part of  my Xmas pressie from my wife and 4 daughters.

To be totally honest I hadn't planned on painting these two figures up, but I seem to be pumping figures out at the moment, so why not? Also they should take me 10 points short of the 2000 points mark which I didn't think I'd get to let alone plan it!

But these are not Warfare Miniatures? They're Trent Miniatures!
Trent make a small but growing Early Napoleonic Ottoman range.
On the left is a Mounted Aga of the Janissaries
and on the right is a Mounted Janissary Officer.

I've painted up these two figures to use in my 1683 Ottoman army,
Naughty I know!

They're slightly bigger than Warfare Miniatures but still fit in nicely with the rest of my Ottoman force.

They'll add a mere 20 points to my total.

AHPC11 - Haitian Revolution - British 69th Regt of Foot

There were many regular British regiments of infantry sent out to San Domingo (Haiti), during the wars from 1791 to 1804. Most knew they were sailing to their fate, not through battle but from disease. The poor devils I chose to most probably be my one and only regular British infantry regt are the 69th Foot The South Lincolnshire regiment.
Detachments from the regiment served in Europe in the early Revolutionary Wars as Marines on HMS Leviathon at the capture of Touoln in 1793, the attack on Tour de Mortella in 1794 and at the Glorious First of June in 1794. The transferred to HMS Agamemnon and served under Lord Nelon at the Battle of Genoa in 1795 and the Battle of Cape St Vincent in 1797

The main part of the regiment was sent to the West Indies in 1796 to take part in the Invasion of Saint-Domingue (Haiti). Where almost half of them died from yellow fever!

Why the 69th you ask? No not for THAT reason, because they had green facings and I like green!

The figures are from Trent Miniatures Irish Uprising collection. Bought from Arcane Miniatures.
The figures are actually Irish Militia Pack IR98/04

I'm waiting for a flag to arrive from Flags of War, but for the moment I have printed off a flag on my printer, which isn't very good! The new flag will appear soon......I hope?

There are 20 figures @ 5 points each in the unit making that a total of 100 points!

AHPC X - Haitian Revolution - Cuban Chassuers

Bet you weren't expecting these after reading the title???

"These units were used primarily to hunt run away slaves but the Spanish used them against Native Indians. The British hired some to fight against the Maroon Revolt in Jamaica. The French also tried using these dogs in Battle in St. Domingue."

These were another part of my Christmas pressie for Mrs R and the kids.

They should be an interesting unit to use on the tabletop!

You can also buy purpose made bases to fit the figures in for ease of movement.

Not sure on the points for these??
20 for the men
16 for the woofers
