John Crawford / Aerial Nudes

AERIAL NUDES
by John Crawford

John Crawford was always fascinated of a birds eye view, looking straight down in a vertical perspective. In his series ‘Aerial Nudes’ he is photographing single naked bodies from a high elevation. Perfectly timed photographs show a distant nude body laying down in a series of interesting locations. On each selected shoot day Crawford would deliver his model Carina to the location in the helicopter, positioning her in the carefully arranged set-up, then flying to 600 feet and capturing the image, which would take no more than ten minutes.

John Crawford / Nudes in Landscape

John Crawford
NUDES IN LANDSCAPE

Auckland based John Crawford is one of New Zealand’s best known photographers.
His portfolio of commissioned and uncommissioned works is diverse in subject
matter and mood, yet unmistakeable in its use of light and its natural, simple style.

John says his aim is to capture images that have a high degree of interest and contrast,
don’t look too technical, and are easy to look at and enjoy.

His corporate projects, undertaken with some of the country’s top design and
communications firms, have included shoots for Lion Nathan, Fletcher Challenge,
Fonterra, CHH, Air New Zealand, Ports of Auckland and NGC.
