Vanessa Paradis first captured the attention of France and the world circa 1987, when at just 14 years old, she soared to fame with the release of her hit single “Joe le taxi.” The song topped charts across Europe, including Belgium, Norway, and even the UK—a rare feat for a French-language track at the time. Born in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés near Paris in December 1972, Paradis had already shown early talent in performance arts, having appeared on the popular French TV program L'École des fans at age seven. Her early success was not fleeting; she went on to win the prestigious Victoire de la Musique award for Female Artist of the Year in 1990, marking the beginning of a multifaceted career that would span music, modeling, and cinema.
