Christian Cooke One Time

I haven't had the opportunity to see Christian Cooke in anything in too long a time (and yes that means I still haven't watched the western series That Dirty Black Bag that he co-starred in with my boy Dominic Cooper a couple of years ago, shame on me) but that will clearly change soon, as he's just co-starred in the gay policeman drama Plainclothes opposite Russell Tovey and Tom Blyth. I told you about this previously (of course I did) a few weeks back -- the entire movie has shot already, which I know because it shot in Syracuse near where I grew up and so I kept tabs on that in case its shoot overlapped with my trip upstate for the eclipse (it did not). Anyway the photo above (via, click to embiggen, thx Mac) is an excellent reminder that Christian Cooke should always, always be in front of me (or behind me, I am not picky) and I am real glad we'll be rendezvousing again shortly. Bring it on, Plainclothes! And in related news:

Arrest Me, Russell Tovey

Tom Blyth, who starred in the far far far better than it needed to be latest Hunger Games movie (my review) as well as Terence Davies' final masterpiece Benediction, is making a gay movie with Russell Tovey! And they're making it in upstate New York, like twenty minutes from where my Mom lives? WTF. It's called Plainclothes and it's shooting in Syrcause with a first-time writer-director named Carmen Emmi and here is how Variety describes it:

"Set in the ’90s and inspired by true events, a working-class undercover officer is tasked with entrapping and apprehending gay men, only to find himself drawn to one of his targets."

So not only is it set where I'm from (more or less) but it's set there during a time when I lived there? Oh I am going to have to keep an eye on this one, even beyond the Tom Blyth and Russell Tovey  cop-perp fuck-fest. Even beyond that! Do we think Russell is playing the cop? I feel like Russell would be the cop but maybe that is just me remembering his hot mustachioed turn in American Horror Story...

MNPP's Sweet 16

Two things that have been very important to my life are celebrating their birthdays today -- firstly the actor Dominic Cooper is turning 43, and if you haven't kept up with our long love affair then I recommend you click through our Dom archives. (For one there's more of the above 2008 photo-shoot, one of my faves, here and here.) If you were to ask me "The Moment I Fell For... Dominic Cooper" (which is a real series here on the site, although I haven't done one in a bit) I'd tell you it was the scene where he comes on to his teacher in The History Boys...

... and I wouldn't be lying! But equal weight would have to be given to the deleted Mamma Mia scene where we first learned of the junk Dom was carrying in his trunk -- an epochal moment in human existence, that.

(Then he wore that speedo in The Devil's Double and forget about it.) Anyway checking to see what Domi is up to right now -- it's been kind of quiet since Preacher, my beloved Preacher, ended -- he's doing a UK miniseries called That Dirty Black Bag (which is described as "A steampunk spaghetti Western series" on IMDb) that co-stars his fellow Brit-boys Douglas Booth and Christian Cooke...

... and yes I will surely have people commenting here that they cannot tell these three white boys apart, and that's fine. I get it. I can but that's my job, to mentally rolodex such stuffs. On that note we come to the other thing celebrating a birthday today, which is My New Plaid Pants itself! HAPPY 16 TO MNPP!!!

I started this here website on June 2nd 2005 on a whim of boredom, and I took that whim and I stretched it out for sixteen ridiculous years of nonsense. We just passed 30,000 posts recently? Truly, mind-bogglingly insane, that. Anyway before I send myself off to the Glue Factory I'll do what's become an annual tradition of sorts here at the site for our anniversary -- I'll ask for money! I try not to do this too much (although there's always a PayPal donation button over there in the right-hand column) but our anniversary feels like the correct place for a wee bit of coin begging. If you've enjoyed MNPP at all why not throw us a dime or two? I make basically no money off of this site and all my hard work -- haha forget about the pennies per year the "ads" bring me. Today's as good a day for supporting a writer you like as any, says me, your favorite beefcake pauper. You can donate right here. Thanks, y'all!

Stars & Stripes & Shorts Forever

.
I've made no bones about it - I hate summer. I hate heat viciously. Pack me in ice and ship me to December. That said, as with all things, there are pluses and there are minuses, and pictures of Christian Cooke in starred-striped shorts (via) are of the former. So while I head off to hide in an air-conditioned room for the next five days or so y'all enjoy these pictures and pretend that's me, being human somewhere. Happy 4th, everybody, and see you Monday...

Good Morning, World

.
A happy 30 to the actor Christian Cooke, who we randomly just posted a couple dozen pictures of last week even though we didn't actually see him in anything to bring about that post. Well besides the dozens of pictures, which were plenty, obviously. These shots are from his time on that show Magic City, which was filled with unbelievably attractive men - see also all the Steven Strait that was on display. That thing got canceled too damn soon!

Here's Some More Christian Cooke For You

.
Several of these photos of the supernaturally beautiful actor Christian Cooke are from the latest issue of Interview Magazine - you can read the attached, you know, interview portion, right here (thx Mac). But when I actually saw a picture of Christian in the play that he's being interviewed about...

... I mean well naturally I saw that and I had to look up more Christian. So there are a couple random photo-shoots mixed up below. And in case you missed our Gratuitous Christian Cooke post from way back click here for that... or for the other one we did because god look at him click here for that. Click on both of those, people. And then hit the jump for some more...

Good Morning, World

.
Because this movie Drunk Wedding (yes, Drunk Wedding) is a found-footage thing (about, you guessed it, a drunken wedding weekend) it means we're subjected to the scene of the gorgeous Christian Cooke (see lots more of him here) dancing in his underpants being all jittery and unclear. This is kind of obnoxious.

And yet we wouldn't have these pictures without the movie, so I won't complain too much. This is better than anything in Chocolate City, at least. This movie's on demand now; besides Christian (and he does get more naked, which you'll see after the jump) there seems to be lots of male nudity amid general bro-ish gay-tinged behavior, so s'all not for naught. Hit the jump for the rest...

Bad Boys Bad Boys Which Ya Gonna Do

.
Paul and Joe aren't the only duo of hotness duking it out for a coveted role in the news today - in the wake of Charlie Hunnam's desertion word's come out that the lead role in 50 Shades of Grey has a few names being considered, most prominently Alexander Skarsgard and the model turned actor Jamie Dornan. Y'all know how we feel about Alex, but we've also crushed on Dornan for a very long time - even way back when he was just a model we posted about him, and we don't usually post about models up in here. What can I say, I met him in person once and he is so pretty your throat collapses on itself in his presence. (Course I have no doubt the same would happen were I to meet Alex.)

There are some other names being mentioned too, though. For one there's Theo James, aka the dude that Lady Mary humped to death on Downton Abbey (and you can see a bunch of pictures of him right here) and for another there's Christian Cooke, who you can see a ton of right here. Out of these four, I'd like to see every single one of them doing dirty things whilst naked. It's true! What about you...?

Get Carters

.
How the hell does Anthony Wilcox get to be so lucky? In 2011 he directed a short film called Hello Carter that starred Dominic Cooper in the titular role. And now here in 2013 he's remade that short into a feature-length film, and it stars Charlie Cox in the titular role. Obviously the running theme here is that this Carter person is hot to death, whatever else may be the case. I can't find the original short online unfortunately, all I can find are a few caps here and there. Anybody seen it? Also in the remake is Paul Schneider and Christian Cooke (the latter we've gratutized right here). Basically, Anthony Wilcox has good taste, is my point. Here's an interview with him.

Good Morning, Gratuitous Christian Cooke

.

Another day, another bout of me posting a bunch of pictures of a dude I don't know jack about. This time it's the actor Christian Cooke, but what do I really need to know other than he looks like...

... what would come from Matt Bomer and Chace Crawford having a baby together, if that were possible (and whether that were possible or not, I would like to see them try). Anyway! He is British, which adds "accent" to his list of tremendously appealing accomplishments. I went to Wikipedia to learn about him, and learnt the following terribly important bit of information:

"His first television appearance was in a commercial for Birds Eye beef burgers. His career has progressed from there."

So there's that.
Oh and he's got an ass like the gods dreamed of.

What else is there to know? He is currently on that show Magic City, which also stars major MNPP crush Steven Strait.

And apparently he is dating Dianna Agron, that blonde cheerleader from Glee. Lucky girl! So yeah, that's more than you need to know word-wise. Picture-wise, well hit the jump for sixty-plus (especially ass-centric) more. They do all the talking necessary.
