Swinfan Sequel When?

I tweeted out this photo (and it went a little viral) yesterday (via Jesse's Insta) asking the same question -- if we're getting all of these legacy sequels why not a Swimfan 2 dammit? Jesse clearly still has the speedo goods. Of course that movie was infamously shy about expoiting its leading man to its full possibilities, barely giving us glimpses of him in his speedo save this protional image here:

And I like to think that if they did a Swinfan 2 now they wouldn't get away with that. So maybe we have moved in the correct direction in some ways! Anyway to get to my point -- yes, Jesse Bradford, still 100% fuckable. Good to know. PS I posted a couple more shots over on the Tumblr.

Good Morning, World

Poor Romain Duris is losing yesterday's fuzz-off!  And on his birthday, no less! Well I suppose it's a good thing I stumbled upon these images from... well I have no idea what they're from to be honest. But whatever they are maybe they'll make one or twelve of you regret your votes. I have yet to see Jesse Bradford snuggle up on naked boys, and I have been looking.

Which is Hotter?

.
It's the joint birthday of two of our favorite fuzzy brunettes... and we have a lot, seriously a lot, of favorite fuzzy brunettes. Everybody's got a type! I speak of the French actor Romain Duris (see our previous posts here), who's turning 46, and the American actor Jesse Bradford (see our previous posts here), turning 41. So here's a fuzzy poll in their fuzzy honor...

One Jesse Bradford To Rule Them All

.
Tom Holland started it all by putting on a shirt whilst hand-standing and then got his Spider-dad Jake Gyllenhaal to do it a couple of days later. It was awesome. And apparently our furry Bring It On boy Jesse Bradford thought so too, because he went and showed them all up on his Insta with a sexy circus routine for the ages. I gotta say -- it's the clingy gray sweatpants that have made all three of these videos so damn special, right? Watch, live, learn, life, et cetera:

Good Morning, World

.
If I feel stressed at all this week I'm just gonna think about Jesse Bradford mediating shirtless with a giant turtle, and maybe that'll make me feel better. In one way or another, anyway. (via)

5 Off My Head: Siri Says 2002

.
You know how I tell you that it's gotten rough when I ask Siri to give me a number between 1 and 100 for this series? How I've done so many at this point that it takes me a dozen or so tries to get her to cough up a number I haven't already done? Well she apparently really wanted to talk about The Movies of 2002 today because "2" was the very first number she gave me.

So 2002 we go. At first glance the year seemed fine but the deeper I dug into the list the bigger the list grew - turns out this was a hell of a year for the movies. But I decided to clamp down on myself - no top tens today. I twisted myself into knots and kept us at just five like we're supposed to do. Of course when you get down to all the runners-up you'll see - brutal. Absolutely brutal.

Thankful Morning, World

.
Happy Thanksgiving Week, everybody! And I know what I am thankful for! Instagram! Instagram a million times! Thankful yes, but not so smart, because if I was smart I would hold one of these pictures off for tomorrow, since who knows if I'll have anything to post tomorrow? But I ain't, smart that is, or holding them off that is also, so let's just go...

... ahead and take in three yes that's right three very fine Instagram photographs that have been posted over the past 24 hours or so. Up top that is an early morning Luke Evans, in the middle that is Jesse Bradford taking a dip, and down below this is James Wolk owning ALL the DILF vibes that there ever were or ever will be. But which I ask you...

Good Morning, World

.
Bring It On flashback! Only better because Jesse Bradford took his top off this time. Now if only he would take to Instagram to reenact the toothbrush scene, only in just tighty-whities, and with me playing the Kirsten Dunst part.

Okay so he posted this video a full four weeks back and I'm only now just seeing it somehow; not sure how that happened - have I actually been in a full-on coma for four weeks and none of you wanted me to know? That's sweet and everything but if I missed things like this then you gotta let me know. After the jump more of this plus a couple other Shirtless Jesse pics from recent days...

Today's Fanboy Delusion

Today I'd rather be...

... treating Jesse Bradford's wounds.

I'm guessing that the bloodied selfies Jesse has been posting on his Instagram lately are from the set of the movie Dead Awake, which is listed as in "post-production" on his IMDb page and is about "an ancient evil that stalks its victims through the real-life phenomenon of sleep paralysis," but I'm no Sherlock Holmes so who knows. If so that's some sexy sleep paralysis. And that's the best kind! As a palate cleanser, if you're weird and gore don't get you off, here's Jesse and some pals (hi Breckin Meyer) touching each other:

Good Afternoon, World

.
Hello, everybody! Getting to a late start today, with the final week of New York Film Festival screenings roaring towards the finish line - this week's not too crazy but there will be a few momentary absences marked on my attendance card here + there. Anyway while I gather my bearings here's a pair of pics off of Jesse Bradford's Instagram account to give good howdy. Let's get Monday going!

Who Wore It Best?

.
I was going through our Kirsten Dunst archives in order to find the above gif to express my excitement about Bachelorette writer-director Leslye Headland's new flick Sleeping With Other People being out in theaters today when I realized -- why don't I hate Kirsten Dunst? I really should hate Kirsten Dunst. Not only did she date Jake once upon a time, not only is she dating Garrett Hedlund right now upon this time...

... not only is she playing Patrick Wilson's wife on the second season of Fargo very soon, but a glance through her history of onscreen beaus, via those same archives, reminded me she's brushed her teeth with Jesse Bradford and mounted a steed with Jamie Dornan, and gotten down with both Mark Ruffalo and Alexander Skarsgard in their white underpants. Damn you, Dunst. Damn you.

Jesse Bradford Three Times

.
At least according to Jesse's Instagram
Jesse had a very fine Labor Day.

Quote of the Day

.
We would quote director Peyton Reed naming the tooth-brushing scene as his favorite part of his marvelous first film Bring It On whatever the circumstance, but since we were just talking about it recently, and this scene specifically, it feels more than timely. And the movie just turned 15 today! (ETA Oh and you should also read our pal Manuel's piece on the film's sneaky feminism over here!) Anyway, says Mr. Reed...

"I loved that it was a wordless scene and it creates this tension … they clearly have feelings for each other and it’s this weird banter that really plays out through the way they brush their teeth! There’s a moment where Kirsten kind of blocks her spitting [the toothpaste] and it was just really cute and I was really pleased with the chemistry they had in that scene together. It felt like something out of an old ‘40s movie, where it was not a dialogue-based scene — there’s so much dialogue in these snappy comebacks and things in the movie, and then here’s a scene that was a much more quiet, but you clearly knew what each of those actors was thinking at the time."

Spitter Are Quitters, Jesse Bradford

.
Today is the 15 year anniversary of Bring It On, which means you've been fantasizing about Jesse Bradford spitting toothpaste for fifteen whole years now, can you believe it? My, how the time passes. In honor of this milestone we've centered this week's edition of "Beauty vs Beast" on the film over at The Film Experience -- click on over and pick your sides! Me, I'm staying here with Jesse, I think he might have missed a spot...

The Bettys & Baldwins Of Tomorrow

.
Have you guys heard about Beyond Clueless? It's a documentary - well as my date for the screening held in Brooklyn last week Glenn Dunks said, calling a documentary's not exactly right... it's more of a video-essay - about the tickles and tropes of Teen Movies post-Amy Heckerling's 1995 classic. Basically filmmaker Charlie Lyne edited together clips from about 200 films, ranging from Bring It On to Final Destination to The Craft to 10 Things I Hate About You, and on and on and on and on, and shows the way the genre evolved, devolved, and often spun its wheels over the exact same material time and time and time again. (The bit that got me was the montage of Swimming Pool Scenes -- they really do all have some kind of a Swimming Pool Scene!)

It's sort of an impossible film to review - if you're of the right age, you'll dig it. It maybe runs a little long? Anyway I'm not actually going to attempt to review it anyway (anyway!) - no, what I am here for is a thought that struck me while watching the movie as the parade of people I haven't thought of in years - Rachael Leigh Cook! Claire Forlani! Devon Sawa! (Okay not specifically Devon Sawa because I think of Final Destination all the time, but you get my point) - paraded by.

Some of the movies featured are less than a decade removed and yet I'd completely forgotten they and their stars were ever even a thing. (Um again, hi Claire Forlani.) But there's a deep well of actors represented by these projects (you can see a lot of titles here) and being reintroduced to them all I could think about was -- some of these people are due for a comeback. More than a comeback, even -- somebody from the past is always getting snatched up and used in a surprising way and we all go, "Oh my god, look at them! Who knew?" Where was Neil Patrick Harris between Doogie and Harold & Kumar? Who's got a Pulp Fiction resurrection in them? Will Alicia Silverstone win an Oscar one day?

This is a bit of a cheat because she's already well on her road to Comeback status but my pick is Natasha Lyonne. She had a rough rough road for awhile there but she was great then and she's great now - in fact she's clearly channeling some of that rough road into her performance on Orange is the New Black and honestly I could see her being thought of strictly as a serious and accomplished actress one day who yes once upon a time co-starred in several American Pie movies. Speaking of...

... she's not the only American Pie gal on the comeback trail!

In all seriousness though, who do you think could
forge their way back from Teen Movie Oblivion
and be a newly crowned Star of Tomorrow?

Good Morning, Jesse Bradford

.
I'm just guessing, throwing a stab in the dark as it were, that you're somewhat like me and you won't ever get tired of getting a look at photographic evidence of Jesse Bradford's furry man pieces.

If I happen to be wrong and you're not like me and you will or perhaps have already gotten tired of getting a look at photographic evidence of Jesse Bradford's furry man pieces, well, just keep it to yourself, pal. I'm busy here.

This is from some show called Sequestered that is on Crackle, the online site; Jesse stars opposite Firefly's Summer Glau. I haven't watched the whole thing yet but I can imagine it's got anything as good as this scene unless the camera, you know, pans down at some point. Way down. All the way down.

Today's Fanboy Delusion

Today I'd rather be...

... chug-a-lug-lugging with Jesse Bradford.

I just spent way too much time (read: any) trying to figure out what kind of liquor it is that Jesse's chugging in this picture. It completes the fantasy, ya know. (via)
