From MattW: Lady Sara Limo Ride, Black and White, Roman’s and Moderns (166 Points)

Lady Sara Limo Ride, Black and White, Roman’s and Moderns

Lady Sara, Limo ride

I would like to take the limo ride from Drama lot to Black and White lot please.

As my offering for the limo ride  I have entered the Armagnac’s new hope for victory  against the English…..Jeanne D’Arc.
A lovely sculpted Perry 28mm miniature with a hand painted flag over a photocopy

Studio Black and White

…… as per custom for me  a Star Wars ship (1/172 a weird  scale, the model is about the size of a matchbox car) somehow fits into a challenge somewhere every year! A simple build I completed in between painting the other bits on Sunday, I think I assembled and painted in less than three hours while listening to The Yarkshire Gamers “Brews in the binyard chat” (where I got a mention too! )

Roman

Next up some Romans, as always I commence with a command stand...

Varus I think through the forest to chase off the Germans is a great idea.....this way Arminius.. 28mm foundry miniatures

A unit of Roman Gallic imperial archers, a mix of Warlord and Foundry Miniatures

Another unit of Eastern archers a mix of Foundry and Warlord Miniatures

Finally a modern matchbox diecast repaint for my Special forces types to ride around in. I have the figures to complete at some stage for the back with HMG. The Toyota technical will make an appearance in my 20mm afghan or middle eastern games

1 x limousine ride via lady Sara limo  20 points
1 x Jeanne D’Arc 28mm                       5 points

Location Black and White                   20 points
Star Wars ship (not sure on points)     10 points - scoring as 28mm vehicle = 20 points 20mm vehicle = 15 points

Roman 28mm Command Stand          10 Points
16 x 28mm miniatures                         80 points
28mm Roman side duel (90 points)
20mm modern/Cold War Vehicle        15 points
Cold War/ Modern side duel (15 points)
Total  points  160

Cheers
MattW

What a fantastic set of entries, Matt. I'm going to assume the Star Wars ship is a 28mm vehicle, but it would help in future if you could state the scale, provide a size-comparison photo or email me beforehand to check. I've added a point for the flag as you have hand-painted over the photocopy.

For tracking your progress through the studios, it would be very helpful if you could download the studio map and edit it by adding numbers or ticks to indicate which studios you've visited, then include the updated map as part of your posts.

Tamsin

Update - the Star Wars ship is, I am informed, about the size of a Matchbox or Hotwheels car, so I've adjusted the scoring of that to a 20mm vehicle.

From GeorgeS: 1:72 Axis And Allies WW2 board game figures (128 pts)

Last post for now (and for the challenge probably)these little guys painted  for  the board game    "Axis&Allies" . The figures have been used are 1:72 scale from Airfix, ESCI, Matchbox and Revell sets.

Here you can see US, UK, Japan, and Russian troops.

There are still two sets to be painted and I will post them in case I have them ready until this Saturday. I'm close to my goal so I do my best to paint them first .

So, 32 figures X 4 points  = 128 points from these sets.

That's all for now.

A BIG THANK YOU! to all the people working for this challenge! You are doing Great job!!

Hope to see you all here next time!

...'till then...

Keep Up The Brushes!!

I'm a boardgame fan, and testify that painted figures make a huge difference to your games. I feel I'm preaching to the choir here. Still, I do encourage wargamers to try their hand at assorted boardgames- you may be pleasantly surprised! Don't skimp on the protective varnish!

From ChristianH - Well I am a bit late on take off but hey it begins. (212 points)

For my first round in Challenge number 7 I would like to present a mix of OOLLDD 20mm plastic WWII British infantry and some more up to date AB miniatures. I have regressed lately back to 1/72 scale WWII games (as with many I started with Airfix oh a long time ago in a galaxy far........wrong world sorry) and thought it would be nice to drag some old stuff from a box and make a platoon or two so this builds on my WWII that I put together over the last year. Images a little weak but I'll try better next time. Oh, thanks to all (especially Curt) for running the challenge again.
Command and Extras (some matchbox? told you it was old)

Mortar, MMG, observer, Medic and flamethrower

AB section

Plastic section

AB tankers not based due to the fact that the bases are, well, tanks

The whole group for my British platoon, two sections

PSC Sherman V Millicast Staghound 1/72

Sherman V closer with no decals, sorry but I have none at present and probably wont get any until I figure out what units fought with the Highland Division around Caen in June and July of 1944

Same

Staghound, gotta love Tamyia rattlecans, and an our to spare.

Really nice little model of the Staghound and I love all the stowage

This makes up I believe 44 infantry with 3 half minis, 2 AFVs amounting to 200 points not including points for half minis??? And hopefully an extra 50 points for the armoured challenge.

Alan and Paul: 1/72 scale doesn't get nearly the love it deserves, and it's great to see these painted up. What rules are you going to use them for? The Staghound is my favourite with all the stowage. Unfortunately we missed that part of this entry was for the armour challenge, but Curt will be awarding you the extra 50 points, as you certainly got it in in time. With the tank commanders, this little lot earns you 212 points, plus the 50 that Curt will bestow.  That's a great start to your Challenge!

From SanderS - Ze Germans are coming! (84points)

Hoi - Next up in my Challenge painting schedule are some of my old Matchbox German WW2 soldiers. I believe there are miniatures from the Early war set (including an American Bazooka armed soldier) and a few DAK figures among them.

Now I know I might have said some ANZACS or Vikings were up next, but they will have to wait. I just didn't get into the mood of painting Khaki after finishing the CW Ruski's.

Now as far as historical accuracy goes, I am not altogether sure these are anything like accurate at all, both in sculpting details and my paint job but I will only be using them for the odd skirmish game now and then. So no biggie!
Cheers Sander

Another very cool submission Sander. Matchbox figures! Now that is interesting, and I suspect many of us had a bunch of figures like this lying around our collections at one point or another.  Super neat to see them painted up!  From what I can see, the colours all look just fine, but I think you have just the right approach painting WW2 - looks good for skirmishing, then they are good to go!

That will be 84 points for you, sir.  Well done, and we look forward to next week's submission!
