From MartinC The Waikiki Sharks (85pts)

This could be the last bloodbowl team I paint for a while. I've said before one of the great joys of bloodbowl is the none standard teams. The lizardman team is one of the best teams with a big guy, lots of blockers and stunty linemen and throwers. So obviously my team is sharks not lizardmen.

I present the Waikiki Sharks

The big guy, with his kills on his shoulder

Very much a life guard vibe

The blockers

Very much a mafioso on holiday vibe

The lizardmen have chameleon skins as throwers. So my team, obviously has starfish

The stunting, kids on the beach

Love the at play poses

Finally a cheerleader

The whole team. Could be my favourite team

Scores on the doors

17x28mm sharks =85 points

My god Martin, there is no end to the weirdness is there?  But what wonderful wacky weirdness there is.  I love the Hoff from Baywatch vibe on the big guy and his kill tattoos.  The beach going middle rankers are wonderful too.  Can the Pickleball paddle be used as a weapon?  Any team with Starfish gets my backing.

From MartinC Flag Sh@ggers TUESDAY 90 pts

I am nearing the end of painting far too many Bloodbowl teams. This one is my 10th and I have 1 more in the post (which could be the best one ever).

In recent times the UK, like much of the world, has lurged to the right. Although we have a centre left government, the centre right opposition has become right or far right. For a man of my beliefs this is somewhat depressing. Last autumn the right decided that the best way to show your "patriotism" was to tie union flags (often stupidly upside-down) and St George's crosses (an Armenian) to flag poles. The people who did this became known as flag sh@ggers.

Present to you the Flag Shaggers, an ogre Bloodbowl team comprising 4 brutish bone head ogres and a bunch of useless hangers on

The ogres

The Knowles, titchy and basically useless. The ogre team is one of the worst in bloodbowl.

My Mexican shambling undead team was lacking decent players, I added a fat mummy last week and this week I've added a couple of resin ghoul runners from Etsy. These are really good players and should improve the team

They are very cool, and very infected with horrible pustules

That's it from me this week, been very busy. Next week either my last Bloodbowl of a brand new project

Scores on the doors

18 x 28mm figs = 90pts

You know there's a lot of Blood Bowl teams when even Martin thinks he might have too many!  I didn't know what to expect when I picked up this particular rock Martin, but we have similar idiots here too.  Believe it or not, we probably have Trump to thank for not having one as our PM.   These brutish morris dancers our nicely done and look I'll look forward to the next best one yet BB team.

From MartinC Norse and Wood Elf Bloodbowl teams (90pts)

My current insanity to build an entire bloodbowl league on my own continues. I now have 6 complete teams, with 3 more to paint.

Next up are the Norse. Once again this is a resin print via Etsy. The Norse are a hard tackling team with the key characteristics being frenzy and being drunk. They are nearly all drunk, which may or not help.

It's a big team with 17 players, too many for a team but some will die. I played on Friday and on the 1st roll one of my Skaven fell over and broke his neck

The team has beer boars, they can't have the ball but a useful tackling assist and good for throwing at the opposition

The big guy is a Yeti, ultra violent and scary

2 berserker, ultra violent and drunk

Ulfwerenar, ultra violent

Valkyries,  the only players that appear to want to play. For Ray think Archie Gemmil whereas the rest are all Norman "bites your legs" Hunter (Leeds players from the 1970s)

The linemen, the backbone of the team. All drunk

Can't wait to get these on the field, but playing too many actual wargames this week to get them on the field.

Next up the Wood Elves. I already had 10 wardancers, resin prints, that had actual ballet poses. I love them but 10 wood elves are enough so I bought an GW Ent from my local toy store, being within walking distance of a wargames store is very bad.

It's an ok model, but like all the other photos all the shading has pretty much vanished.

The full team

I think they are really cool.

Scores on the doors

17 x 28 70 mm inf = 85 119
1x ent = 5 25 pts
Total 144

Really not sure how to score these guys as they are big, 35mm on average and the Ent is 60mm. Advice from the wise minion would help.

Really Martin, I am an old man with a soft brain - no fair making me think!  I will, treat this as 40mm figures and the ent as a 40 mm vehicle.  I was tempted to tell you to take the Ent to Byron as terrain, but reckoned that was not kosher at it is sentient.

With the hard part out of the way, let's get to the easy part which is enjoying g the figures.  Love the drink Norse and their beer boars (I feel I've met a few of these in various pubs and saying clubs).  I really like the metallic sun glasses on the Berserkers.  The ent looks great and fits in nicely with the war dancers.  Life is tough when you have a FLGS within walking distance....Peter

From MartinC Day of the Dead Bloodbowl team (85 pts)

My bloodbowl mania continues. Los Lunchadores have won 2 games. DaveD bought me the next team for the roster as a Christmas present, a Mexican Shambling Dead team. These are obviously an unofficial team and I love them

The linemen, skeletons. As they are Mexicans I went for a classic day of the dead paint scheme

2 Wight blitzers.

All the best teams need cheerleaders and these guys have a full mariachi band. Told you it was funny

Scores on the doors

16x28mm = 80pts

You never know what is going come from your fertile imagination Martin.  I just love these, especially the band.  Great figures and very nicely painted too, I really like the clean lines on those Skulls, the red shirt on the singer and the guy with the bottle of what I presume is tequila.  I will be disappointed if Barks does not name these skulls of the week.  I've added a minion's 5 points for sheer wackiness.

From MartinC Los Lunchadores (90 points)

 Good to be back.

I'd kinda lost my mojo and enthusiasm over the summer and was looking for some inspiration. I'd last played Bloodbowl in the 1980s and wasn't that impressed but the new season 3 was out last month and I thought I'd give it a go. Its absolutely brilliant, me and a couple of friends have played a couple of times a week for the last month. It's tactically challenging and very funny.

One of the best parts is looking up non GM teams on Etsy and being amazed by the imagination of the designers. Look them up even if you are not buying, they will have you giggling.

So with that in mind I present to you Los Lunchadores,  the Mexican wrestling halfling bloodbowl team

The team

La Chicas. Female halfling hopefuls

The guys, halfling hopefuls

Cactus ents, without them halflings are terrible at bloodbowl. With them they are just rubbish. Also painting spines is annoying

The catchers, holding their tacos

Halfling hefties, like tacklers but less so

The venerable coach

These guys will get their 1st game this afternoon.

Scores on the doors

18 x 28mm foot = 90 points

Have a very merry Christmas one and all

_________________________________________

First, welcome back to the Challenge, Martin, it's great to have you with us again.

This Bloodbowl team is both hilarious and absolutely fabulous. So much to love here: female halfling wrestlers, catchers with tacos, cacti heavies... wonderful stuff. And all excellently painted and ready for the scrum. You'll have to let us know in the comments how they did for their first game!

With these as a terrific start, I hope the coming months shows us that your painting mo-jo has been restored.

Merry Christmas to you!
