From MikeF - Vertibird from Fallout - 28mm Vehicle - 20 Points

I painted a set of 10 Brotherhood of Steel miniatures  from the Fallout video game for the Toy Story Theme. The Brotherhood are the high tech force of the setting and have access to one of the few flying vehicles in the game - The Vertibird. It’s a rototilt aircraft which seems to just want to be a helicopter. There isn’t a commercially available model in 28mm so I had to grab the next best thing. The Hornet from Mantic Games is fairly close and I had one already in need of a repaint. In the original game, all the brotherhood equipment is left over US army gear which was still painted in the US army green. I painted it the same green as the brotherhood figures and added the appropriate decals. As the vehicles are meant to be old and worn, I went to town on the weathering. It’s far more than would be acceptable for an aircraft, but there’s no FAA in the wasteland to threaten decertification.

 28mm vehicle - 20 points.

This is definitely it for the challenge, so I’d like to thank Curt, the minions and all challengers for making the challenge happen.

See you later this year!

This is awesome, Mike. I loved the vertibirds in the TV series (in fact, I love saying the word: 'vertibird', much to Sarah's annoyance). Great work on the painting and weathering. Your power-armoured knights will be able to travel (or crash) in style now!

'Remember folks: It can only get worse!' 👍

From MikeF - New California Republic Truck and Tank - 2 x 28mm Vehicles - 40 Points

This week I have 2 vehicle for my Fallout inspired Xenos Rampant side project. During the toy story theme round I completed 10 models to represent the Brotherhood of Steel. These vehicles are for their rival, The New California Republic. The NCR are one of the first stable nations to form out of the post-apocalyptic wasteland and occupy a portion of the former state of California The NCR are on the low end of industrialization and field mostly light infantry units. Any vehicles are largely scavenged and refurbished from the ruins of the old world. They're a credible military power however and I wanted to strike the right balance between scavenged, but operational.

First up is a 3d printed model from Watcorp Designs. It's a basic transport vehicle that looks at home in the wasteland.

Next is another 3d printed model directly copied from Fallout 4. This is from Etsy and appears to be a limited print. The world of fallout portrays the future as it was envisioned by people of the 1950's. This tank captures that retro-future design really well. In terms of its real world functionality, this tank is a complete disaster! Too may tracks, a ridiculous 2 gun turret and a front facing that doesn't appear to be armoured and has a large opening in it that appears to go right into the crew area. I guess you can't be too picky when you procure your vehicles from a scrap heap!

I think those are the fuel tanks right on top of the tank.

That's 2 x 28mm vehicles for 40 Points.

Thanks for visiting!

Great vehicles Mike.  You say SciFi, but the way things are going, we may have a New California Republic any day now.  I agree that the tank would be a disaster IRL, but it look wonderful.  Very Popular Science magazine from my Junior High School Library.

From BrianC - Flames of War 'Nam, Fallout, Greeks, and Zombicide (149 points)

Hey all. Looks like this will be my last post for the challenge. It was awesome and I'm looking forward to the next one! Another post of this and that painted miniatures. No library journey in this post. Let's roll!

Let's begin with some 15mm minis from Flames of War "Nam! Here we have a platoon of PAVN.

Next, I have some Warlord Games Metal Greek Thessalian Light Cavalry. These are very brittle minis. The ankles of the horses barely hold up the body. I lost one because the ankles broke and was a pain trying to superglue the horse's body. So it was tossed.

Ok, the rest of the painted minis are single miniatures from Fallout Wasteland Warfare, a Warlord Games Greek Commander, and a Zombicide Undead or Alive miniature.

Fallout Wasteland Warfare Settler

Fallout Wasteland Warfare Survivor, Nora.

Fallout Wasteland Warfare Ghoul, Raul.

Zombicide Undead or Alive Billy The Kid

Warlord Games Greek Commander

That is all I have. No need for a "Library" picture since it was not being used.

SCORING

37 x 15mm foot = 74pts.
5 x 28mm mounted mini = 50pts.
5 x 28mm foot = 25pts.

Total = 149pts.

Thank you for sharing your hobby efforts with us Brian, and this is such an ecclectic assortment to conclude things with. Not everyone can transition from "Fallout Wasteland Warfare Ghoul" to "Greek Commander" in one post, but such variety is a cornerstone of the Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge - know your contribution has helped to grow it!

149 points for you - and a couple of days will remain should you wish to add any more!

Zombicide, Greeks, Fallout, terrain, and Trucks! (446 points)

Hello! Hello! This is another Mish Mash of miniatures painted. I will begin in Section One with the "Children's Books" topic. I painted a metal Reaper miniature, The Magician. It looks like the old comic, Mandrake The Magician. The comic strip began in 1934 and ran until 2013.

I made my way to Section Two and made a stop at the Local History topic for some research on the O.K. Corral in Tombstone, Arizona. There are quite a few characters to read about such as Wyatt Earp and the Earp brothers, The McLaury brothers, Big Nose Kate, Sheriff Stilwell, Doc Holliday and so much more! Doc Holliday was a gambler, gunfighter, and dentist. Below is Zombicide Undead or Alive miniature of Doc in the movie "Tombstone" sculpt.

Afterward, I moved on down to  Section 4 The Rotunda. I stopped by the Literature Topic and picked up a very cool Star Wars Novel by Timothy Zahn. He is responsible for The Star Wars Thrawn series(3 books). Very well written and anyone into the Star Wars lore will have a blast reading his books. I painted the Star Wars Imperial Assault Grand Admiral Thrawn miniature. Of course, this miniature game ended in 2019, but the miniatures are still available.

I was feeling crafty so I stopped in the DIY topic and began to build some easy-to-make miniature wargaming "mountains" I cut up insulation foam, which you can find at any hardware store. Shaped them up to my liking and glued them together. I added drywall spackle for texture. Primed them up and added the color. Dry brushed them and added some tufts. Done!

I used the "cube" rule for scoring. I put "Robb" (32mm) next to the terrain for size comparison. But, I will leave this up to you, Greg.

I would sacrifice "Janie," a Zombicide Undead or Alive Survivor for using The Library Cart. I would skip over to Section 3 and check out the Saguaros of Arizona in the Nature" topic. I love my State 48!

The cacti were printed from my Elegoo Neptune Pro 3D Printer. I figure they can also be scored as scatter terrain.

Ok. I will end my tour of the Library there! Next are the miniatures I painted during the 3 weeks from my last turn-in.

The Great Zanzibar from Zombicide Black Plague. Aka Freddy Mercury of one of the best rock bands of all time, Queen!

Mitch from Zombicide Rue Morgue, has seen it all. I wonder if he ever met Negan?

Please welcome, Rob(aka Kevin Costner from the movie Open Range) from Zombicide Undead or Alive.

Ok, next I painted up some Fallout Wasteland miniatures. I introduce to you, Moira Brown, Three Dog, and Lucas Sims!

Moira Brown

Three Dog!!!!

Lucas Sims

I always like to change the pace when painting minis. So I painted this Footsore miniature from the Mortal Gods game, Phatis, Athenian Promachos.

Next are more Greeks!!!! I have here 14 Greeks. I am only 5 Greek minis away from completing the Warlord Games Greek Starter Army!!! I admit this is fun, but also a lot of work!

I have finally completed all the Zombicide Toxic City zombies(17)! Thanks to this cool paint challenge! Here is the rest of them! Yay!

A close-up of the Abomination

I finished 8 more Zombicide Undead or Alive "Runners"

I live in Arizona and I will admit this beast would be a nightmare to deal with! I painted a Zombicide Undead or Alive Abomination, The Cactus Queen. This mini stands well over 54mm! Check it out!

Next, I painted 2 15mm trucks from Team Yankee.
