From KyleC - Khorne Kontinues (Sarah's Cart) ( 60 pts )

So another week, and I was able to get a few more models painted up for this Khornish raiding party here...

Worked on a few Heroes ( Lord, BSB, Aspiring ) for my character section, and then another 5 of the marauders to bolster the unit a bit further.

Big boss on foot here.. again from the Age of Sigmar range for Blades of Khorne. I have like 4 or 6 of these models due to how many of the starter boxes I procured way back when I first wanted to try building this army ( spoiler.. never got too far off the ground ). So now I have a few that I can chop up and use for different projects like this one. He is normally accompanied by a flesh hound, but chopping the reins off, he just looks to have a nasty hand weapon there instead.

Same red armor I have on the newer models, but I tried a stippling/lines approach to the cloak to make it a bit different, even though the colors used are exactly the same here.

Another model I have multiples of from the starter box. In Age of Sigmar he is a cool model buffing those around him to new heights of frenzy... in the Old World.. he is just a Battle Standard Bearer but can take magical banners up to 100 points. Combined with the other model, and stuck in a unit of Warriors, I suspect they will have some lasting power for smaller games.

Tried to use more purples/reds in the skintones here.. not fully sold on it..

The Warqueen Marakarr Blood-Sky! A figure I have no idea why I picked up, but she's for Warriors of Chaos, and will look great leading some marauders, so figured she was a good model to paint up! Again playing with the cloak, but going a bit brighter in the red as she doesn't have a lot of armor that I could or would paint red here.

She is also my contribution to Sarah's Cart.. to travel to the Rotunda First floor.. just not sure which section, but most likely Sci Fi.. unless I score something on my trip coming up..

5 more Marauders made from the Blood Reavers. And the Banner boi getting a massive banner from the Juggernaut set.. Practical in Age of Sigmar as they are individuals and don't need to rank up.. in ToW.. not so practical.. but one unit of Marauders can be skirmishers, so that might be these in the end.

Thankfully they are still able to rank up so far, and this now gives me 15 of them. 5 more and that will be a full unit, and I can then go and focus on something else! I am liking that the extra effort/time I am putting to the multiple skintones is making the unit look more interesting. And that the few parts of red painted really are vibrant on the overall unit. Going to have to be careful when I get to the warriors then, and see how to keep it up!

But for now, I am off to India for a work conference. So one of our other minions will take on the Sunday role, and I am unlikely to have any post of models to showcase next weekend as I won't have anything hobby related with me next week. Though depending on what socials, I might have a few snaps from the trip itself.

Total for today's post then are:

- 3 28mm Infantry Heroes - 15 pts

- 5 28mm Infantry models - 25 pts

- Sarah's Cart entry - 20 pts

Total 60 pts for today

Some more excellent kernels (geddit??) from you here Kyle. They all look quite nasty and ready for some skull-taking and blood-spilling. The Blood God will be pleased and Sarah's Library Cart will transport you to the First Floor Rotunda and the Sci-Fi stack!

60 points for your tally as well!

From ThomasG: Zoggrok Anvilsmasha [Fantasy](25 points)

Time to ring in the bells on my second leader to this fledgling army for the fantasy game, Age of Sigmar, this one being a hero character, usually going by the name of Zoggrok Anvilsmasha. He uses the collective power of the Orruks around him to imbue magic strength to the weapons of his "ardboyz".

Again, I chose to use the Uruk Hai as influence for both the skin and main armour panels, however as this chap is a magical blacksmith, I once more dipped in to the world of Asterix the Gaul for inspiration.

In Asterix, his village has a blacksmith by the name of Fulliautomatix. He has bright red trousers and a brown leather apron, so naturally they helped bring a bit of colour to this dark palette.

I found myself really pushing my use of textures on the apron to give the impression of worn leather, and although I feel I could do more, at this point in the learning process I feel proud of what I achieved. This model is particularly large and really sets an imposing presence on the tabletop, soon to be joined by many more.

A short but sweet week from me this time, as I have spent most of my week preparing and attending my final assessment to become a qualified archery coach, which I'm very proud to say I passed with flying colours! Next week I will have a special squiggly beast and hopefully some green skinned orks from the far future for you all.

Points
1x28mm = 5pts (+5)
Fantasy Library Entry = 20pts
Total = 25pts 30

Thank you for reading and please hit me up with any comments or critiques on this fine fellow; life is one great big opportunity to learn, and I'm all ears.

Tom.

Tom, this figure is excellent! I do have a very weak spot for Asterix, so the reference to Fulliautomatix sits very well with me indeed, but even aside from that nod, you have done an absolutely splendid job on him. That apron looks utterly fantastic and your pride is more than justified.

Now you say this a large figure, although you do not say how large, but I somehow feel that 5 points for this magnificent piece would be unnecessarily thrifty. I will score it at 10 points; either consider it equivalent to a 28mm cavalry figure or as 5 well-deserved bonus points. 30 points total.

To make us even happier, next time a  map would be awesome!

From KyleC - Last Hurrah - (90 Points)

So it's been a minute since I posted and got something painted.. but had a moment over the last week or so and got a few bits painted up!

First up was a Bloodthirster I printed up from OnePageRules patreon. He be a big boy here and I printed a custom base for him to stand on.

Going to be a nice leader for my Age of Sigmar army for Blades of Khorne. Hopefully the new codex brings some nice updates without massive point updates..

Then I shifted gears to getting some Trolls done for another new army started up.. some Gloomspite Gitz shenanigans forthcoming..

2 vanguard boxsets with the multipart trolls and some printed bits.

I really like these troll kits..

So many variations available with the kit as the left/right arms that can be fitted together.. and then multiple head styles available also. I can see myself buying and building more of these..

These trolls were printed and are from a newer patreon called The Beholder Miniatures. Headed up by one of my old friends from Scale75.

His Ogre from the welcome pack seemed like a good alternative as a troll boss man. Same patreon but part of their welcome pack.

Am just glad to be painting again after a bit of a rest and a work trip to India.

Had to have a small beer or two while out there to deal with the heat.

But points wise for painting.. no idea what it would be so will leave it in Curt's capable hands 😏

10 trolls
1 Bloodthirster
And a beer 🤣

Great to have been in the challenge and to have the energy to do as well as I have this time around..

Until the next one!

I was wondering if we'd see you before the close, Kyle. I've been following your progress with these figures on Instagram, so I'm happy to see them featured here as your closeout.

The Bloodthirster is truly epic, and I really like the skintones of the trolls. I'm not entirely sure of the sizes of these figures, so I'll take my best guess.

Thank you for joining us again this year, Kyle. Your work is always inspiring and your enthusiasm infectious. Until our next time out!
