From GeorgeS - Last points last figures! Italian WW1 and a Prussian 1:35 (140 pts)

One last post for this challenge and with that hopefully I reach my goal :)

Here we have 13 figures of the classic Airfix " Mountain troops" set in 54mm, 1:32 scale. Painted in a simple Toy Soldier standard in green uniform simulating Italian WW1 troops. 

 

 

 

 

Also one more 1:35 finished figure for the Franco-Prussian Diorama. The first Prussian of the set  painted in Box Art colours. Not based as these figures comes with no base and they can stand on their own. Also he will be based in the diorama.

So, with these 140 points I reach and overdo my goal for this year :)

Another diorama I'm working on is a Franco-Prussian war battle scene with ICM multi-pose figures.

The French part is ready and the figures are complete and sealed but not based. So,  if you think they can't be scored no problem by me.

       So, if they finally score , there are 50 points for them :)

From GeorgeS - 54mm Airfix French Imperial guard (150 pts)

      This year the challenge didn't go well for me... I quit early but I hold my strength for next year :)

       So, as this challenge comes to its end I will upload some figures I been working on the last month .

Here you can see 15 figures that will be a part of a small battle diorama. That's why the bases are just painted. They will be covered in the setting later. 

 

       14 Airfix and one Timpo 1:32 figures. Some converted. The flag is scratch built with Green Stuff.

 

 

 

I wish I could complete the diorama to present it here but it wont be ready until this Sunday.

So, 15 X 10  = 150 points for me of this set..

From GeorgeS - French Algerian Zouaves 1:32 Franco-Prussian War (93 points)

      Hello everyone!  No progress on the map this week. I like to stay some more days on Arda to prepare my journey's next stop " Vulcan"  . My trooper for that expedition is almost trained but not ready to present yet..

      So just for some points, I present today some 1:32 Armies In Plastic figures. I'm not 100% satisfied with the sculpts but this is known about AIP figures. Though the sculpt af AIP figures is a bit coarse and not fully realistic, it is very nice for Toy Soldiers and it is the only brand that covers so many eras and topics.

     

       These are French Algerian Zouaves from the Franco-Prussian war 1870.  Painted in a High "Toy Soldier" standard. The bases are not decorated 'cause they are going to be part of a Diorama base , so they will be covered in place. I've just painted them black in order to decently present them here. 

   

 That's all for now. Next week my spaceship will move again to a trip to Vulcan.

You know what is great abouve Zouaves? EVERYTHING, THAT'S WHAT. Reviewing this is soothing to the hobby soul after two hours of removing 20cm of snow from my walkway and driveway. Zouaves - especially the real French ones - always look so cool on the table, no matter the scale. The brushwork here is fabulous to boot. Well done George.  I'm awarding bonus points because I love the Franco-Prussian War period, and I can do that sort of thing as a minion.

    I think I can see the Finish line ahead..!!!

    Another classic 1:32 figure from a great brand from the 70's. This is a Timpo Action pack figure from the Wild West set. He has stolen the Wells Fargo treasury box, so he is our guy for the job :)

 

 

  Now lets go for some creatures!!

       I'm back again and here we have another Old Toy Soldier come to life!! ( yes,..again..haha)

     This is a Kelloggs ( made by Crescent?) plastic Knight in 1:32 scale from the 60's. Arrived to me in a bad scratched and playworn condition, but fortunately , unpainted and complete. No missing or broken parts. The plastic surface was very damaged and it is still visible in it's face. I didn't want to correct something there as it would be a disaster.. So painted the face over the scratches..

    Another beautiful little old guy for my collection! Hope you enjoy  :) 

       Running against the clock now, to paint a female figure for Lady Sarah since I have no creative idea for the next room... See you soon again...(hope so!)

       Been very busy this last month and I had no time for blogging...Plenty time of painting though...

   Last week now and I'm running against the clock. Have some of the last rooms ready and three challenges left to be painted... I thing I will catch up.....

     So, a small vignette here for the "Tomb" chamber. A small and forgotten, WW2, US Soldier burial ground. Scratch built in 1:32 scale. Some accessories of a "dead" plastic Airfix soldier used.

         So 20 points for me and  (?) for the small terrain item .It has 9 cm diameter, if that helps.

From GeorgeS - The Gallery of Ancestors - Contribution price figure.

    Finaly I find the time to finish it sooner than I expected :)

         So, here it is my contribution to the Chamber Of Challenge contest. As it is my first year to this beautiful event I wanted to gift something that represents me well. All those who know me from my blog they know I'm a big Airfix fan, so my figure couldn't be something else :)

        A classical pose of " British Commandos" 1:32 set and my favourite figure of it. And , as the bases of those figures are a bit poor, I based him on a driftwood so he can be well added to any collectors display.

      Also this figure is my entry to the " Gallery of Ancestors" chamber. I believe most of us have in our family trees some ancestor who fought in that war, one or the other side.. My grandfather fought in the Greek-Italian front in Albania and then he was with the Greek resistance fighting along with the British troops in the mountains. It was common that time that many of the Partisans was equipped with British Army uniforms etc. So I believe that this uniform was well worn by the Greek Partisans.

    So, for the record this scores 30 points and it is ready to be sent in some of the participants.

       Hi everyone! Another Toy Soldier repainting for this challenge.

         This is a plastic 1:32 Britains figure from the Farm Toys and figures category. Dated in 1971. These figures were produced and released in a factory simple painting, good only for young children..

Agood repainting make them really great display pieces. 

 

 

      A young girl feeding the Chicken, ducks , or something hungry anyway :)  Didn't cover the base since I wanted to be more "Toy Soldier" miniature rather than a realistic model. I didn't cut the mold lines and regret this when I was painting but is too late now..

       Hope this is correct for  "The Larder" challenge room and so I get to the next chamber.

From GeorgeS - Sniper in the Moonlight - 30 points

       Wow! Never thought that this would take me so much time! This is my first ever try in greyscale , or to try painting something in the dark and thank you to give me that opportunity :) This guy took me a bit more than the normal colouring and the blending and layering was a bit tricky!

      So, here we have another Airfix 1:32 scale figure, from " British Paratroopers" set.

     The Sniper!

    I've painted this figure using the original colours ,as I would do with the normal figure but mixing all of them with heavy amounts of dark or light grey( sometimes black or white). I wanted to give the feeling of light from above by the moonlight. So a small idea of the original colour should be visible. 

   I don't know if that is well depicted in pictures. Hope you like him :)

     So , I believe this will take me out of the Chamber Of Darkness and I score 30 points for it.

From George S - Airfix Afrika "Corpse" - The ressurection (30 points)

      "...It Walks!"  

   Not only but it fights back too...  I think this gets me out of "The Golem's Haunt" chamber... :)

    While painting the previous posted Afrika Korps figures I got this idea when this damaged figure comes to my hand. The arm was broken in an awkward way and instantly remember the chamber that haunted me from the beginning of the challenge!

    Just for the record, this is an Airfix 1:32 figure from the Afrika Korps set, resculpted a bit.

   So , 10pts for the figure and 20 for the room  = 30pts if I'm correct.

Nice resculpting of that damaged figure. I could tell from the pose that it was Airfix!
