From Ians - 10mm odds and sods (205 points)

Hi all so today i am posting a mixture of themes. Madhist Camal riders these were from the Henry Tudor Sudan range and have been rescaled for 10mm. Was expecting one piece models as per his usual mounted models but no 2 piece, rider and camel. Luvely prints but could not workout how they go together. still not sure they are right so going forward have ordered some from Pendraken. Any way here are two bases, 8 figures.
Next up Rohan Kings Guard infantry, these are from the ROK horselords range, i brought the army bundle. 2 units of 30 figures each based for warmaster.
Next installment of the Mumakils. I have 6 models but only 4 will be finished for the challenge. in fact 2 of the 4 have no crew as they are only half finished. This one when dry brushing the head the brush went through the jaw. After patching with paper then liquid green stuff it still looks ok.
Due to being called by work at 0300 in the morning and being able to go back to sleep here are two more.
Mumakil herd
Last but not least some Haradrim spear armed infantry. Again resin prints from Kosmo minatures evil men of the south range.
I have asked for a photograph course for my birthday as pictures are not my strong point so apologies for the poor quality. As a last comment my thanks go out to Curt and his Minions who have worked so hard to make this Challenge fun and enjoyable for all. For me its something to look forward to all year and I plan and collect figures the entire year. So thank you again Curt and i hope to see you all next year, have a good one folks.

Points Madhist Camel riders 24pts Rohan Guard 60pts Mumakil and riders (30pts mumakil x 3) and 11 for infantry figures so 101pts in total Southern spearmen 20pts Total claiming 205pts

Wow, great last post, Ian! I did a few 10mm LotR as proof of concept a few years ago, but I love yours, especially your panzer detachment of Mumakils!! They look amazing in a group and will be even moreso when all the crew are in place. Terrific stuff and a great way to cap-off your Challenge.

Until next year!

Ians:10mm Mumakil; ( 44 points )

Hi All At last i have finished the first of the Mumakil. This model has been a nightmare, i got the stl file free on 3d Cults and just could not print it, in the end i went to a local printing company Colourful 3D Creations in fornbourgh in the UK. Even he had trouble as it turned out the models were hollow. There was alot of filling and adding bits that just wouldnot print like the ropes holding on the platforms. But here is the first one. The figures are from Wakelessrex and are their version of the Hadarhim archers {Kabiliat Aljanubi archers) all printed by me. The mounted figures is my version of Erkenbrand from ROK minatures and is a 10mm model.
From the front (i just cannot paint tusks)
and from behind
Close ups of the platgorm with archers
Only another 5 to go {help} So thats 11 x 10mm infantry so 11pts Erkenbrand 3 pts Mumakil ok no idea here

From DaveD . Well that is indeed a beastie . I will class it as 54mm vehicle so that gives you 44 points

From Ians, 10mm Mahdist, 355points

Hi All last scheduled post of the challenge and something slightly different. I plan well ahead for each challenge and have been collecting and printing figures all year. In July the family went on holiday to visit Hadrians wall and while there i was working on what figures i would need for Haradarim army in 10mm. I decided to get a couple of packs or Madhist from Pendraken and only when my son joined us from Middlesbourgh did i realise that was where they were based. So we decided to pop in to their shop to pick up the figures. The figures were just what i wanted so i asked for loads more packets, the answer was we have no more in stock, followed by if you can wait for 15 minutes we can cast them for you. Now that is customer service. Unfortunately i did not check figure sizes with the ones i was printing and as the Hadarhim army was the last i planned to do for the challenge i was stuck. So i have always fancied armies for the Sudan so i have used the figures for what they were orginal designed for. First up are 8 bases of 5 cavalry figures all pemdraken figures
Next the Ansar foot, they are a mixture of Pendraken and some printed figures from the Henry Tudor Sudan range. 13 bases of melee troops each of 10 figures
4 Bases of Ansar riflemen each 5 figures
Now my favourite units the Beja or if you are a Dads Army fan the often mentioned by corpral Jones as the Fuzzy Wuzzies. 7 Bases of melee troops each 10 figures
3 bases of Beja riflemen each of 5 figures
The army so far
So total points for Madhist 235 x 10mm infantry at 1pt each = 235pts 40 x 10mm cavalry at 3pts each = 120pts Total 355pts

From DaveD . Mahdists - an excellent choice sir . Great to hear of your positive experience at Pendraken . I think I might have made those for you . Lovely work on this lot . You have had a great challenge and all that planning has certainly paid off.
355 it is

Ians, 10mm Riders of Rohan and Orcs (1100pts)

Hi All I have not posted for a couple of weeks as i have committed the cardinal sin of running out of both bases and tufts. In early January i injuryed my back and could not sleep, walk and drive. The only place that was comfortable was my painting chair but only for 10 to 15 minutes, i worked out that that was enough time to paint one colour on one unit before the pain was too much and i had to stop. The upshot was that my carefully laid plan on what i was going to paint went out the window. So next installment of the Rohan army: All models are printed by me from stl files from ROK minatures. First up are three infantry units: Men of the West Fold
A warrior unit of Rohan
The three units together
Now 2 units of scouts.
Now for some heavy hitters the Kings Guard just one unit.
More Riders of the west fold. Erkenbrands Guard on the left and warriors on the right
Riders of Rohan 8 units just all together.
The rohan units together for this post
Now for some orcs which as someone said on this blog i need more Orcs Orc rabble
So here are the 12 units of rabble
2 units of wolf riders
Armoured Trolls 6 of them. I brought 12 armoured trolls back in October and can only find 11 of them so these are the last trolls for the army, but 11 should be enough right?
The Orc contingent 3 as group
So points: Rohan 108 infantry at 1 pt each, 150 cavalry at 3pts each makes 558pts. Orcs 432 infantry at 1 pt each, 24 wolf riders at 3 pts each and 6 trolls at 6pts each which makes 540 points. So for this post i am claiming 1098pts.

From DaveD. Not content with just one points bombe on Sunday , the crew give us a second one . That is just brilliant . You just do a bit while comfortable strategy has paid off alright . I don’t know I think more orcs required 😆.1100 it is
