Hard to believe we haven't seen a Cal Massey story around here in half a decade, so let's fix that grave error with a grave error terror entry from the December 1952 issue of Uncanny Tales #4! Cough! Cough! Don't open that coffin! (Classic over art by super Sol Brodsky.)

The Island
If the summer heat has got you down, why not take a blood curdling dip into the high seas of screams with this Cal Massey "Marvel Masterpiece" from the August 1951 issue of Marvel Tales #102. Boy, there are some really chilling faces in this one, so chilling in fact, that you might not even need to take that doomed dip cuz your blood is probably already freezing over just looking at that shivery splash...

Too Timid to Live / Davey and His Dame
Time for "Bad Blondes Double Header Fest: Part Two", both tales from the Sept. '53 issue of Journey into Unknown Worlds #22 ...the first story may be signed by John Forte, but if you ask me, the Matt Fox assist completely removed all traces of anything even remotely resembling Forte's style. Then our second atmospheric tale is illustrated by one of my underated favorites, Cal Massey!

X / In the Cardboard Box
Two more Atlas thrillers for you today, the first from the great Cal Massey and the May 1952 issue of Spellbound #3. Then stick around as Joe Sinnot makes yet another blood freezing THOIA appearence (he's a definite fave around here for sure) with an atmospheric chiller from the March 1954 issue of Menace #10.

The Death Watch
Here’s another chiller from the May 1952 issue of Astonishing #13 with more excellent art, this time from Cal Massey. According to Lambiek, Massey worked from the late 40’s to the mid 50’s (the bulk of his output for Timely / Atlas) before turning his artistic focus to painting and representing the black community in the art world.

Jaws of Death
Your second adventure into terror today comes from the expert hand of Cal Massey. This is actually the first of two gator tales I have lined up for you, the second one emerges to bite off your own hand tomorrow.
