Another full month of macabre May-hem continues with an eerie, satanic classic from the January - February 1954 issue of Eerie #14, with art by the terrifically top-notch terror team-up of Nodel and Alascia. Roll those blood-soaked bones!

Master of the Dead!
Did anyone from Metallica ever read this story from the January - February 1954 issue of Eerie #14? Asking for a fiend. Nice work as always from Nodel and Alascia, in fact, I liked this story so much back in 2016 that I included it in my Chilling Archives of Horror Comics hardcover collection, The Return of the Zombies. Get your copy HERE if you haven't already...

Crimson Death
Some very nice artwork --and how about that splash!-- highlights this Nodel and Alascia tale of voodooey vengeance from the April 1953 issue of Eerie #11. And take a lesson from this tale too while you're at it: if things in your life are getting stale, jazz it up with something terrifying, and / or deadly!

The End of His Service!
Let's try a little change of pace around here for a bit with a timeless futuristic robo tale of man and machine, or man vs. machine... uh, are there actually any stories like this that have a happy ending? From the November 1951 issue of Strange Worlds #5, art credits at GCD list 3 different illustrators on this one: Norman Nodel, John Rosenberger (page 3), and Werner Roth (page 4.)

Satan's Woman Prize!
If you enjoyed the satanic shenanigans of our last post, wait until you see what we've got up our smoldering sleeves today, from the January - February 1954 winter issue of Eerie #14. This is kind of an interesting issue in that Norman Nodel and Vince Alascia teamed-up on art duties for all four comic stories contained herein, and also created the canoeing cover art together! Eerie #14 was also the last issue of this great Avon series to feature all original material, before dragging along for 3 more issues by simply reprinting Eerie 1, 2, and 3 (but with new cover art) in the exact same order as well.

The Glistening Death
Well, as some of you have figured out, Haunted Horror #17 is slightly delayed and now coming out NEXT week... no biggy really, and sorry about the confusion. Here's another preview tale from the issue, this one originally appeared in Avon's very cool City of the Living Dead one-shot from 1952, art by Nodel and Alascia. See ya at the comic shop on Wednesday!

I Blogged a Double Feature!
Two different types of trembling tales o'terror for ya today, the first from the February-March 1952 issue of Avon Periodicals Eerie #5, it's another yarn about an insane artist that I meant to post earlier this month with Satan's Pawn (click HERE if you missed it), but due to a case of my own temporary insanity, it's now paired up rather cooly here instead with a "it's so silly it's scary" fun story from my equally insane buddy Craig Yoe-mance and featured in his latest issue of IDW / Yoe Books Weird Love #6! I Paint Only Terror art by Norman Nodel and Vince Alascia, and I Married a Monster art by (according to GCD) Don Perlin, this story originally appeared in the December 1971 issue of Just Married #81. You know I never need an excuse to post an "I Did Something" double feature!
