The Real McCoy! / Death at the Carnival! / The Trainer!

We ended August with a burial scheme money grab failure fiasco, so let's kick off September with another phony baloney buffoon trying his damnedest to rake in some serious blood bucks! Long-time THOIA followers might remember "The Real McCoy!" when we first presented it HERE back in 2009, but it was the black 'n white repo version. Well, here it comes again, only this time we can finally view it in all of its pleading, limb hacked gory glory! From the July - August 1954 one-shot debut issue of The Clutching Hand #1 via ACG, and featuring some outstanding artwork by the ever underrated Paul Gustavson. And not to be outdone there, I've also included two hysterical Harry Lazarus one page fillers featuring even more "smart" guys getting their brutal, just desserts. (NOTE: If anyone feels the need to point out the obvious plot hole in "The Trainer!" though, please don't. We all see it. We all know it. Don't be that guy. Please.)

"The Neat Trick"

We've been looking at old time stage magic over at AEET this month HERE, so how about we bring a little bit of the 'ol slight of head-- errr, HAND-- over here to THOIA as well, eh? This is a fun, Atlas quickie from the June 1952 issue of Journey into Unknown Worlds #11, with Harry Lazarus and George Klein teaming up on art duties... and fyi: there's nothing up my sleeve (or inside my collar), but we might just lose our heads in the next post as well, so stay tombed for that coming up next-- I swear, it's gonna be a seriously wild weekend Double Header that you know you won't wanna miss out on!

Till Death Do Us Part

Had a few requests for more ACG 3D-esque "TrueVision" stories, so here's a good 'n demonically possessed one from the February 1954 issue of Adventures into the Unknown #52, and illustrated by Harry Lazarus, of course. For a couple more similarly titled "Till Death Do Us Part" tales, check the THOIA Archive because man, I totally thought I had already posted this story, but nooooo...

The Witch Hunter

The wicked 'ol witchery continues with another ACG tale of the supernatural, this time from the May 1954 issue of Adventures into the Unknown #55! You barely even have to glance down to see that this is one of those cool, but very short-lived "TrueVision" stories by Harry Lazarus. I've posted nearly a half dozen of these in the past, so if you're hungry for more of this "thrilling 3D process", CLICK HERE afterwards!

The Monster of Zollmort Castle

There's nothing too earth shatteringly unique about today's story from the August - Sept '52 issue of Eerie #8, it's just a super fun, man vs. over-sized monster romp in a haunted castle (where no one listens to the warnings either!), plus, terrific art from the consistently cool, Harry Lazarus.

This Ship is Doomed!

Many of you seem to enjoy these Horrors on the High Seas posts, and we've got another one sailing your way now from the March - April 1952 issue of Witchcraft #1 from Avon. No art credit listed at GCD, though I'm fairly certain this is Harry Lazarus...
