IT!!!
Another terrific tale from the Nov. '52 issue of Chamber of Chills #14 --see our last post for another one-- featuring Vic Donahue art (his eerie undead remind me of Joe Maneely's a bit), plus a spooky story with tons of atmosphere. Maybe we'll take a look at this entire issue, cuz OMG it's all pretty freakin' insane...

Grave on the Green
We're at the halfway point of the February 1952 issue of Black Cat Mystery #33 (check the last two posts for more), and in case I forgot to mention it, I think I always start off the new year with a full issue. Right? I think so. Anyway, we've already seen some monsters and scorpions, now it's time to drag out the most horrific horror subject that ever horror'd horror-- GOLF HORROR!! Don't be too quick to judge this one, it's actually a hole in one-- in your head! Errr, or something...

The Flash of Doom / Witches Tricks
Finally finishing out the May 1952 issue of Witches Tales #10 in its entirety (check the last 2 posts, as well as IT! in the archive), --it's another something of something story that may or may not shock you (hey Brian Barnes, any relation to this mad scientist?) Post also rounded out with a Harvey filler page of "witches tricks." More horrors on the way, stay tombed...

Dungeon of Doom!
Had a request for this classic Vic Donahue tale from the March 1952 issue of Chamber of Chills #6. It was originally featured here back in August 2007 (along with the rest of this entire great issue), but I thought I'd share it again for those that missed it the first time around, as it is definitely one of the finer, more gruesome examples of 50's Harvey horror... I'll begin with new posts soon!
Two of THOIA's favorite followers, Blaise & Mim, have been with us since the very beginning... I'd like to thank them again for the great Tales of Terror postcard book they were so kind to send to me for Halloween! It's kind folk like this that keep THOIA going! XOXO

Two Ways to Die!
Two numbskulls try to bump off their innocent old aunt for her money, only she's not so innocent--- not even a little! I love stories like this, reminds me of something William Castle would have had fun filming, so let's do another casting call: David Niven as Leslie, Frank Cady as James, and Ellen Corby as Aunt Lenore.

The Vault of Living Death!
As promised, the next crawling handful of posts this week will all be devoted to THOIA's favorite Harvey Comics series, Chamber of Chills. Join us as we scream along with an unholy cryptload of ghosts, mummies, demons, and damsels in distress (and yes, dudes in distress too.) Why, check out the disasterous fate of this poor fella... maybe you'll learn what to do if this should ever happen to you! And wow, how about the title of this tale? Look familiar?
