The Shrunken Heads of Dr. Death

Another wild one from the March 1954 issue of Web of Evil #12, and it's a viciously violent, wonderfully kooky expedition into the jungle of terror-- PLUS, a rather downbeat ending untypical of this type of horror comic tale, best grab a hanky.

The Uninvited Corpse

A not-as-rotten-as-it-seems tale from the madcap March 1954 issue of Web of Evil #12-- one that's a lot more funny than it is frightening. And living dead aside, listening to these two doofuses argue themselves to death is definitely worth the price of admission alone, haha...

The Fiend Who Lived Forever

It's Fiendish Friday, and here's a spooky kooky one from the August 1954 issue of Web of Evil #17 --some of you might remember this one reprinted in Haunted Horror #15 as well! Louis Ravielli's art is always richly, (and uniquely) detailed, and literally drips with misty, mouldering atmosphere. I always feel like he probably used old movie star photos for reference, as occasionally the posing and faces seem very familiar. It's a fun, fast paced shocker, though it might have benefited with another page to really flesh out the carnage a bit, especially during the crime spree montage.













And yes, there is a doomed love story in there as well, haha...

Make-Up for Death

Not only does the January 1952 issue of Web of Evil #2 contain two of Jack Cole's best precode horror stories ever (click HERE and HERE for 'em), it also contains this sadly uncredited, hot little number which, like the pair of Cole tales, saw multiple b/w repeats years later in the Eerie Pubs. And why yes, it's another complete issue presentation here at THOIA, --be sure to also check for the "Ghost Ship" which is still sailing around somewhere in my archive-- most likely HERE!
