Devil's Due
Is it getting hotter in here? Are you sweating profusely? This can only mean one thing-- another Devil tale at THOIA today! Actually all that sweat can mean another thing-- a Rudy Palais story, though this particular yarn of his isn't as sweaty as most. Long time followers of this blog may also be experiencing a wave of devilish deja vu, as they'll possibly remember that I first posted this cursed classic from the July 1952 issue of Chamber of Chills #10 over half a decade ago. But as part of an unending contract I signed many many moons ago (don't ask), it's now time to take another look at it and raise a little Hell. And yes, unfortunately it will not be featured in DEVIL TALES either, the reason being that we chose to save it for another upcoming book in the IDW / Yoe Book Chilling Archive --more news on that COMING SOON, although I'm sure it's not tough to figure out the subject since it's already been mentioned here in the intro ;)

Vendetta
After the unexpected news of the great Dick Ayers passing away, we now detour back to the second Frank Thorne illustrated tale as promised; this time as part of our ever inconsistent "Werewolf Wednesday" theme (and it's a werewolf western to boot!) From the May 1975 magazine issue of Devilina #2, with story by John Albano.

As Ye Sow...
Awww, everyone loves babies! Wait. That's not how I wanted to introduce this story. The winning combination of Bruce Jones and Luis Bermejo teamed up for this cringe inducing classic, (also from the May 1976 issue of Creepy #79 like our last post), and whether or not you think it's cruel or pushing the bounds of taste, well... ooops! I didn't mean to say "taste" either.

Dragula, Queen of Darkness
***ADULTS ONLY!!*** If you've missed the recent posts over at AEET, we're celebrating Halloween a month early there by "Skipping September" altogether and jumping right into the spooky stuff. This also includes the kooky stuff, and no one was kookier than National Lampoon Magazine, who unleashed their great, all "HORROR" issue in November 1971. For obvious reasons I saved this Neal Adams illustrated vampire spoof classic for posting here at THOIA, add to that the additional cover art by Frank Frazetta, as well as a pulpy bonus image from Gray Morrow-- and well, this is definitely one hell of a fun issue! See more HERE!

Love Story / A Real Dish
A couple of stories about love and hunger for everyone on Valentine's Day, both from the awesome "DARK TALES" ('91) collection by Jordi Bernet and Sanchez Abuli (the masterful creators behind the super stunning "Torpedo 1936" gangster series.) ADULTS ONLY!
