Sometimes the scariest place on your entire eerie estate can be that gosh-dang 'ol garden out back! Don't believe me? Check out this overgrown creeper from the April 1952 issue of Chamber of Chills #7. And if you need further proof, CLICK HERE for even more ghastly gardens of hellacious horror!

The Walking Bones
If that scary skeleton cover on the March 1978 issue of Grimm's Ghost Story #43 didn't clue you in, it actually has not one, but two boney tales within! Todays post, to me, is the better of the two, and features art by Golden Age great, Joe Certa. I think we'll save Sam's bones for another day though...

The Wig-Maker
Time to venture back into the odd old west for a tale that's half spooky / half silly, and 100% howlin' Harvey at this late precode horror / humor vein stage of the 50's game. Yeah, everybody could see Wertham's hammer of doom a'fallen', so many of these terror titles began to take the hint and turn up the funny volume. Things went from gory to corny fast, but not all was lost, like this hairy scary (*tag! *gag!) from the Feb '54 issue of Witches Tales #23. And FYI: There's even more wig weirdness in the archive if you've got a hankerin' to dig 'em out-- just don't ever say that Mr. Karswell didn't go to great lengths to root out that 'ol black humor for ya's!

Arms of Doom / Kiss of Doom!
Tentacled Tuesday (it rhymes with doomsday!) is here with a double header dose of wiggly, squiggly doom! One from Rudy Palais, and one from Joe Certa-- both from Harvey's Black Cat series! Our first story from the Dec '51 issue of Black Cat #32 almost looks comical at times with those big Mad eyeballs, but Palais, as always, handles the creepies nicely.

UPDATE: A few weeks after this post was uploaded I stumbled upon this pulp illustration from the February 1931 issue of Weird Tales Vol. 17 #2... look familiar?

And hey, while we're talkin' tentacles, if you need a really good monster movie, I highly recommend checking out GRABBERS! (2012.) Funny and scary-- just like today's posts!

And now for today's sexy, sushi scented sequel, from the February 1953 issue of Black Cat #42.

HAUNTED HORROR #28: Black Knights of Evil! vs. The Avenging Corpse
In stores this week-- ugh!-- HAUNTED HORROR #28 creeps into comic shops on the 28th with a toxic dose of ghastly grim tales to leave you glowing and blowing chunks! Guest issue host, Toxic Tommy, picks a few so-called "classics" from the dreariest sludge drench of all, and today THOIA has two FULL STORY previews to curdle your sour lil stomaches into submission! Pick up HH#28 for even more tales of ghosts, blood suckers, catastrophic experiments, etc! FYI: Todays tales originally appeared in Chamber of Chills #6 (March '52), and Mysteries Weird and Strange #3 (Sept '53.)

Carnival of Death / Whip of Death!
Due to the west coast seaport shut-down, Haunted Horror #15 will not be in stores today according to Previewsworld, --dead in the water, so to speak (along with everything else from IDW this week!) We will keep you informed on any new developments. In the meantime, we'll keep the death rolling along with a couple of screamers from the June 1952 issue of Black Cat Mystery #36.
