We haven't had an anti-commie laugh fest in a while around here (or a mummy tale!), so let's kill two bonkers birds with one silly story in this confusingly cornball classic from the May 1954 issue of Crazy #6. Sol Brodsky does his Mad Magazine-esque best with the madcap material, so don't blame me...

Robot That Hated / Robert the Robot!
The recent storms here in the macabre midwest knocked out the power in my lab for a few days, but we're back up and running, and comin' atcha hard 'n heavy with a rock 'em sock 'em Robot Double Feature! One is good, and one is eeeevil, but they're actually both love stories (!!!) and if you're scratching your scientific heads about that-- then read on! Al Eadeh spooks yer screws loose with a haywire classic from the February 1954 issue of Adventures into Weird Worlds #26, while joltin' Joe Maneely brings up the rear with a rip roarin' round of robo hilarity from the July 1954 issue of Crazy #7.

ZOMBIE! / Aesop's Stables
After our last somber post, it's time to lighten the morbid mood and maybe even get a little crazy around here-- like, double header Atlas crazy, man! First up, a Bill Everett zombie kookball classic from the March ‘54 issue of Crazy #4, followed by even more MAD-esque poetic hilarity from Howie Post and the July ‘54 issue of Crazy #7. See ya's in July!

Whacks' Museum
I still owe you guys some promised stories from Charlton's THE THING series, but now I'm having scanner issues and it will have to be delayed yet again!! Arghhh!! All apologies, folks, they don't call this place THE HORRORS OF IT ALL for nothing! In the meantime, here's a funny old 4-page Bill Everett story I had on hand that I actually donated to another blog years ago, but it never officially found its way back here to THOIA-- until now! Kooky-spooky wax museum shenanigans that originally appeared in the February 1954 issue of Crazy #3, and then apparently slightly updated for the December 1974 issue of Arrgh! #1.

Drag-Ula! & Count Varicose
And finally today, here are a couple humorous vampire tales to wet your crimson whistle and tickle your funny veins. The first tale is from the January 1954 issue of Crazy #2, illustrated by my hero Bill Everett… it’s really really funny (if you can actually read it.) I believe Pappy posted this one over at his blog a while back but here it is again for anyone who missed it.
Plus a silly 70’s Silver Age Drac spoof from Marvel called Count Varicose, from the September 1975 issue of ARRGH #5.

Frank N. Stein
Last month Pappy posted a superbly screwball Dracula story by Bill Everett from Atlas Comic’s Crazy #2 called DRAG-ULA! (Click HERE to see it!) So to compliment Pap’s post, I thought I’d lighten the funeral parlor mood around here for a day as well and present a kooky Frankenstein story also by Everett, but from the December 1953 issue of Crazy #1.
Crazy was a very silly, short lived series that only lasted 7 issues before everyone realized no matter how good the art is it was still a far cry from Mad Magazine. None the less, today’s post is a highly enjoyable, non-sensical romp into the wacky world of humorous horror parody, and for Everett fans (and Frankenstein fans too of course) it’s a rare gem very worthy of re-discovery.
