From one terrifying transformation tale beyond the stars (see our previous post), to another right here on Earth, let us now follow one man's ill-fated attraction to some bad pussy. From the Spring 1945 issue of All-New Comics #11, and with some ferociously fun art by Jerry Robinson, not to mention a funny little foreign sleuth of the supernatural, Professor Augustus Bonnard, who I'm not sure ever made another comic book appearance, (I didn't find anything related on GCD anyway, so please correct me if I'm wrong.) Yep, love is all around here at THOIA this entire month of February, it's even in the trees, and gasp! --here it comes now for your throat!

The Hand in the Wall

Over at Frankensteinia, Pierre is celebrating Boris Karloff’s 122nd birthday by throwing a weeklong Blogathon (Nov. 23rd -29th) in his honour. Pierre has also asked his favourite fellow horror bloggers to join in and of course THOIA is more than thrilled to participate. So, since the theme around here is comic books, let’s resurrect two dead birds with one mad experiment and make it a “Silver Age Flash Forward” as well, with a shivery chiller from the October 1962 issue of Boris Karloff Thriller #1.

The Old Witch / Evil Voices!

Two eerie tales of witchcraft for you today, the first from the January 1954 issue of Mystic #26... The Old Witch, obviously lifted from A.E. van Vogt's famous short story "The Witch," was also made into a really great Night Gallery episode that aired on Sept. 29th 1971 called "Since Aunt Ada Came to Stay".
