Good Morning, World

I've done a terrible job keeping up with them but Alexander Ludwig's been vacationing in Greece for the past week or so and his Instagram is full of sexy snaps like the ones seen here -- we love feeling like we've been taken along for a trip of constant beefcakery too! Murder our daily drudgery dead, you large beautiful man.

Good Morning, World

When I posted that hot Alexander Ludwig snap yesterday morning I didn't foresee this turning into a Hot Alexander Ludwig Photo week, but I am not angry about it -- quite thee contrary. Some photoshoots of some boys just cannot be denied and this...

... right here is one of those photoshoots. There are for Odda magazine (via) and I'd rank it right up there among his hottest -- which is saying something! Alexander Ludwig has been a generous young man in his career. Go swim through our archives if you don't believe me. Or just hit the jump and get this fresh proof...

Good Morning, World

Alexander Ludwig here, writing to tell you that I just can't let your host Jason leave bed quite yet this morning, and so he'll be posting a bit later than usual today. In a few hours, probably. If he can move by then. Well it's either that or he's got a screening to go to and that's what is keeping him offline, but let's all go with my first option just cuz it's more fun for everybody. I'm entertained, anyway.

Good Morning, World

The two seasons of Heels are heading to Netflix on September 15th so maybe I will finally watch Heels? Alexander Ludwig posting this selfie yesterday (via) asking for a third season to happen is sure making me think I should jjoin the cause. Any fans of the show?

The Last Hunk on Earth

Vikings and Heels actor and MNPP fave Alexander Ludwig has signed on to star in Earth Abides, a limited-series adaptation of George Stewart's acclaimed 1949 sci-fi classic novel about a " brilliant but solitary young geologist living a semi-isolated life who awakens from a coma only to find that there is no one left alive but him … there are no rules. His journey is to learn the difference between sanctuary and survival and to open his heart to love if he is to find meaning in his life." Further, the page on Amazon for the book calls Alexander's character an "intellectual." Yeah. Um. So... I guess Alexander is looking to flex a different muscle than usual with this role. And bless him, let him try. Who knows! Surprise us, Alex!

Jake's Beard To the Rescue

Yes yet another review dropping today! I told you I have been busy. Head over to Pajiba to read my thoughts on Guy Ritchie's The Covenant, the Afghanistan war movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal that despite Jake and that beard I was very much not looking forward to watching. And yet... it's not bad? I didn't hate it? Perhaps it's the "going in with basement low expectations" thing but I actually found this a solid piece of drama. Somebody else can write the think-piece about how it (in vain) tries to be apolitical, but for what it is it's good enough. But do I think I'll ever spend much time thinking about it again? I do not. Which is why I am going to dump several pictures of Jake looking hot in the movie here and now before this movie drifts off into nothingness. Hit the jump for those...

If It's Jake I Will Watch

I had forgotten that Jake Gyllenhaal was about to star in a Guy Ritchie movie -- when I first heard about it and posted about it we didn't have any more information than just that, but then a couple of weeks after that we found out it was going to be called The Interpreter and it was telling a true-life story about a soldier who went back into Afghanistan to try to rescue his interpreter after the US wheeled out of that country. Maybe that's why I forgot -- it sounds like a political minefield and I don't trust Guy Ritchie to tackle such things with a delicate touch. Jake though, I know Jake's a good boy politically, so we'll see I suppose. Anyway the movie now has a different title -- it's called The Covenant and today Jake shared the photo from the set seen here. Along with word that it is hitting theaters on April 21st. So we will probably have a trailer soon. At least Jake looks good and butch; it will get me through. As will the cast list full of hot pieces like Alexander Ludwig and The Boys' actor Antony Starr! Ooo-rah!

Today's Fanboy Delusion

Today I'd rather be...

... soaking my Ludwigs with Alexander. (via)

Good Morning, World

Pretty sure I hadn't even heard of a movie called National Champions until this morning when these shots of Timothy Olyphant in a movie called National Champions presented themselves to me -- have you heard of a movie called National Champions? It's relatively new as far as I can tell, and it's streaming on Amazon and other places right now, and it's got quite the cast -- Olyphant alongside Stephan James, Alexander Ludwig, J.K. Simmons, Tim Blake Nelson, Kristin Chenoweth, Uzo Aduba, Lil Rel Howery, Jeffrey Donovan, and David Koechner. It's a football movie about players striking for fair compensation yadda yadda all I need to know is how much time is spent in the film's locker-room with James & Ludwig specifically, and I'll be there.

Good Morning, World

Far be it from me to not share a new-to-my-eyes photo from this shoot of Alexander Ludwig that I posted two photos from last month right here -- they can drop one of these once a month and I will post them. Oh who am I kidding -- they can drop one of these once a day and I will post them. While they're at it drop more of his Flaunt photoshoot too! Anyway maybe you (unlike me) (yet) watch Alex's wrestling series Heels, in which case you'll be happy to hear it just got renewed for a second season. I'm happy to hear that and I don't even watch the show. But when I know there's a show in the world that has this very large young man running around in very tight professional wrestling outfits I feel a little better about the world, and that's in too short supply these days.  Happiness, be ours!

Alexander Ludwig Eleven Times

Looks like we might have another epic Flaunt photoshoot on our hands! Heels and Vikings actor Alexander Ludwig is the cover star of the latest issue and the photoshoot (snapped by photog Chrisean Rose) is reminding me of their photoshoots for actors like Aaron Taylor-Johnson (see here), and Chord Overstreet (see here) or even the pinnacle, the peak, of celebrity beefcake photoshootery, Flaunt's Chris Evans photoshoot from 2004. Basically Flaunt exploits the hot young things real well when they want to and this shoot of Mr. Ludwig can slip right inside (full stop) that company with ease. Hit the jump for the rest...

Good Morning, World

Wishing one and all a happy Thursday morning with some recent Alexander Lugwig photos of note -- are any of you watching Heels? I am not watching Heels -- I have not been watching much of anything except for film festival movies for the past month. But I had heard when Heels first popped up that it was better than people were expecting so I'm curious if you are of the same opinion. I like to stare at Alexander, and could find myself doing that for a few hours if the material's right! This post was actually inspired by Alex's new photoshoot for Jon magazine, which I have put some photos from down below (although we don't have them all just yet). Before we get to that a personal note though -- I am not online today! It's my second-to-last day of NYFF screenings and I'm seeing m-f'ing Dune y'all! I took the whole damn day off for it. I'm not back online until tomorrow afternoon. So make due! These photos after the jump might offer some assistance...

The Monsters Are All Moving To Brooklyn

Hello to my fellow New Yorkers! Or "People who might be in the New York Metropolitan Area between October 14th and 21st"-ers! Tickets have gone on sale today for the 2021 version of the Brooklyn Horror Fest, which is always a solid little blast of oogies-boogies and gore-soaked entertainment. It will be virtual and not-virtual this year, meaning people will actually be able to go to a movie theater to see a bunch of its titles -- as always, we implore you to be a vaccinated person if you're going to leave your damn house. If not, stay home and rot. That said there are a ton of titles that BHF has in their clutches this year that are worth leaving the house for, several of which I've already reviewed:

Here is my review of After Blue
Here is my review of The Feast
Here is my review of The Sadness!

I've also seen but not reviewed Earwig, The Last Thing That Mary Saw, When I Consume You, and of course the classic Trouble Every Day from Claire Denis which is screening for its 20th anniversary. All of these things have their moments! Oh and they're also screening Session 9 for its 20th, and that has more than "moments" -- that movie is a straight up masterpiece.

Of the movies I haven't seen yet that I'm dying for there's Night Teeth, aka the forthcoming Netflix vampire movie that stars The White Lotus breakout Sydney Sweeney alongside Megan Fox, Lucy Fry, Alexander Ludwig and Raúl Castilloooooooooo. I'm sure the movie is too hetero to have Alexander & Raúl make out but I'll just put that thought out into the world. You're welcome. Oh and they're screening Gaspar Noé's Lux Aeterna which stars the gutsy-and-then-some two-some of Charlotte Gainsbourg and Beatrice Dalle, too! I'm so excited for Spooky Movie Season! Go buy some tickets!

I Quit Smoking Thirteen Years Ago Today

Lucky thirteen, y'all! That's how that thing works, right? Well maybe I'm no numerologist but what I do know is I tossed cigarettes in the trash on May 5th 2008 and I ain't never been back, and that's a thing I celebrate here on MNPP every single year every May 5th by posting enormous galleries of extremely attractive actors doing the exact thing that I no longer do. It keeps me honest.

Well if not honest... it keeps me something, anyway. Last year, as with many aspects of last year, we hit a snag though -- because I was quarantined at home over this anniversary I'd been separated from the big folder of photos that I'd keep gathering up to post for 2020. And so last year's post was admittedly a bit slack. Well...

... this year's post makes up for it, and it makes up for it then some. I've got all the photos I'd gathered for 2020 plus all the photos I've gathered in 2021, and it's gonna give y'all a hell of a nicotine buzz. If you don't die of cancer before you're finished with this post then I haven't done my job! I make light (get it) but seriously... don't smoke. You don't look at good as these guys do doing it, I promise you. Well unless you're actually KJ Apa reading this, in which case... call me, KJ Apa. You can blow smoke (or anything) on me any time. And with that, let's hit the jump for dozens more...

Good Morning, World

I was so confused when I first saw these photos of Stephen Amell and Alexander Ludwig and it said they were for an upcoming Starz series called Heels -- I was like, "Is Alexander playing a drag queen who has to turn to pro-wrestling to pay for his size-fifteen stilettos?" Alas, this is not the case. (Tell me that wouldn't make for an amazing show though.) The title means "heel" as in "bad guy" although who knows, maybe there will be a joke somewhere on the show about Amell's character wanting to wear lifts because he's shorter than Ludwig (they're playing brothers) and ta-dah, we'll have wordplay.

Why do they always have to be playing "brothers" on these things? Aren't we to the point where they can play boyfriends? I'm tired of Brother Programs! We've had a billion by now. There have been more TV shows about brothers than there have been actual Brothers in recorded history. Gimme boyfriend rivals in the ring, dammit! Aaaanyway the pictures come via TV Line where there's more info on the show -- it seems like a TV version of that movie Fighting With My Family from last year that starred Florence Pugh and Jack Lowden which I psychotically have yet to see, even though...

Alexander Ludwig Six Times

.
While this isn't anywhere in the first thirty to forty pages of unfortunate shit brought about by The Great Plague of 2020 it's still a bit of a downer that I've been separated from my office computer, because my office computer contains my much heralded and decades-in-the-making "Gratuitous Files" -- the bottomless folders within folders alphabetized by name of all the menfolk from which I have long drawn my daily posts. (Same goes for my ability to change MNPP's top banner every week, as I don't have Photoshop or Illustrator installed on my home laptop.) Anyway I've been making due with what I can scrounge up here and there, like today -- somehow I've never posted these not altogether recent photos of Vikings actor Alexander Ludwig, which make for a real nice companion post to these photos of Alexander Ludwig that I shared back in 2015. (You'll seriously want to post on that link, I think.) And then hit the jump for the rest...

Ed Skrein Rescue Us

.
So I tried to watch Midway last night and oh my god you guys that movie is actually unwatchable! Just absolute unwatchable trash -- I couldn't even finish it, and if I can't finish a movie that stars Patrick Wilson, Woody Harrelson, Luke Evans, Nick Jonas, Alexander Ludwig, Dennis Quaid, Darren Criss, Aaron Eckhart and our favorite fucked-up Nicky Hoult doppleganger Ed Skrein here all in period military uniforms then you know something has gone very very very wrong. Part of me kind of enjoys the fact that we've got our own hyper-faggy Michael Bay with Roland Emmerich -- The Gays can make Hollywood Crap too, dammit! But man this movie is one long window-shaking fart. Ugh.

There weren't even nearly enough shots like that of Patrick Wilson from behind! What were you thinking, Emmerich??? Anyway for the forty minutes of the movie I did make it through the only thing keeping me hanging on was looking at Ed Skrein, and as I distracted myself by also googling him while the interminable movie droned on and on I realized that I have somehow never posted this photo-shoot of Ed here on the blog proper? I think it's on the Tumblr but MNPP home-base deserves these shots, especially after all the suffering I went through staring at that movie last night. Hit the jump for the rest plus a bonus one...

Ho Ho Oh My

May Alexander Ludwig & Travis Fimmel stuff your stockings, and
then each other's stockings, and then yours again, tonight!
Happy Holidays from MNPP!

Lots of Privates on Display

.
Grab the biggest pistol within reach and ready yourself, for the second trailer for Midway is here! Roland Emmerich, gay director of Independence Day and Stonewall, has scooped up all the hot pieces -- Luke Evans and Patrick Wilson and Darren Criss and Nick Jonas and Alexander Ludwig and Ed Skrein...

... and Aaron Eckhart and Dennis Quaid and Woody Harrelson and a ton of young actors who I don't know by name yet but who will inevitably look real gosh darn cute in their WWII uniforms -- for his recreation of the famous battle, out in theaters on November 8th. The first trailer is at this link but you probably don't need that now, since here's the bigger one:
.

.
One thing I will add: did you catch the character posters?

The Poster For Midgay I Mean Midway

.
Given the cast that openly gay blockbuster director Roland Emmerich has (putting the ass in)  assembled for Midway, his big-screen telling of the 1942 WWII battle -- which includes Luke Evans and Woody Harrelson and Patrick Wilson and Ed Skrein and Alexander Ludwig and Nick Jonas and Darren Criss and Aaron Eckhart and those are just the name actors, check out the whole twink-full list here --  you'd think that the first poster for the film (via) might look more like a greasy beefcake scene from infamous annual Herndon Monument naval academy pole-climb. Something like...

Maybe they're saving that for closer to its
release date? Midway is out on November 8th.
