The many, many times I have done posts celebrating Chris Hemsworth's Wetsuit Pursuits here on the site I have gone out of my way to edit out the other people in the photos (unless it was brother Liam because obviously) since Chris is the big hunky main show we're all coming for. (And coming for.) But today...

I find myself thinking the dude he's seen surfing with here (via) is hella cute and him and Chris have a palpable chemistry in the photos and so he can stay. he can stay in the photos and he can stay in the fantasies I am going to go have about said photos as well. Wasting A Weekend in the Wasteland

Hi-ya! In case it wasn't clear from the near total lack of posting today I had today off, beginning my holiday weekend early -- and yet I feel compelled to pop in anyway and say so. Huh. Truth be told I thought my review of Furiosa would be live and I could link to that, but it turns out my review isn't going up at Pajiba until tomorrow. So check back tomorrow and I swear on everything holey I will update this post with that link. (No that is not a typo.) Until then have a lovely Friday night, I guess. Oh and I also guess I should add I am off on Monday like the rest of the civilized world so once that review is posted it'll be Tuesday when next you hear from me. Unless you follow me on social media in which case I will surely never shut the fuck up because, you know, issues. Bye til then!

Stare Into the Distance, Meaningfully

It's a half-day here at MNPP HQ as I'm off to see a little movie called Furiosa now. And I didn't even have to fly to France and attend the Cannes Film Festival to do it! Ha! Buncha suckers. (Christ I am bitter this year.) Anyway I will be back in your faces screaming my monkey gibberish at you again in the morning tomorrow, don't worry -- unless Furiosa overwhelms me to the point of cardiac arrest of course, which is entirely possible. Fury Road nearly does every time I re-watch it. Until then y'all make like Chris here and stare meaningfully into the distance, while also being sexy. I know you can do it. I have faith in you.

Yeah wash that dirty mouth out, Chris Hemsworth! Actually I should be the one washing my dirty mind out (err ahh I don't know, it's early, man, cut me some slack) because I keep forgetting that the new Mad Max movie is out in less than four weeks! Holy crikey! Just yesterday I went through the 2024 release schedule, putting things into my calendar to try (and inevitably fail) at being aware of what is happening and I saw that Furiosa is apparently out on May 24th? I guess that's why all the marketing has been happening, up to and including this new cover shoot of Chris for Vanity Fair (via).  Is anyone else nervous about Furiosa? I mean all my heart trusts in George Miller but I wasn't as nuts about that first trailer as I shoulda been. I know, I know. George won't let us down. Le't start getting excited now! The military action thriller called Land of Bad is out in theaters today -- now as you might know, "military action thrillers" aren't usually my cuppa. But when one stars Liam Hemsworth, Ricky Whittle, and Milo Ventimiglia, I make exceptions. Especially when the boys just couldn't stop sharing photos of themselves half naked and bro-ing out together on set -- see here and here. That tends to catch my attention. Anyway I'm not writing a proper review of this movie but I will tell you that it actually surprised me -- it's totally solid? I get a lot of emails about these kinds of movies and they almost always look cheap and generic but Land of Bad does not -- the action scenes feel big and thrilling and well-choreographed and staged and I was 100% wrapped up in the movie's drama? Much to my surprise. I really genuinely thought I was just watching it for the beefcake -- and sidenote Liam spends the entire last half an hour or so of this movie in only boxers and so it delivers on that front too. There miiiight be some problematic stuff going on with its politics, but I wasn't allowing myself to think too hard about the movie -- I just took the ride, and I enjoyed it, brain shut off. Liam of Bad

I've posted previously about the upcoming action-thriller called Land of Bad because it stars Liam Hemsworth and Ricky Whittle (this morning's grautity) and Milo Ventimiglia amongst others and because the boys were posting lots of beefcakey photos from the set. Anyway according to the new promotional images from the film itself (via) seen here it seems the beefcake will be making it onto the screen too, which is heartening to know. Sometimes you see all these hunky set photos and then everybody's buttoned up the entire movie and you're like, "Why were y'alkl even in that kind of shape then? Just eat a damn cheeseburger." But not this time! We can all be glad they starved themselves now! Anyway I guess this movie is out here in the U.S. in about a month so I guess we don't have to wait too long. I want to -- nay I need to -- know what happens to the pap snaps that we don't get to see. You know this photographer was snapping away at Liam Hemsworth stripping out of his wetsuit in the middle of a public parking lot with their high-speed camera at thirty thousand frames per second and captured all of the good stuff. And yet all that's released are the shots of the almost good stuff -- the so close stuff. Is there a black market for the money shots? I want in! Somebody send me the password or handshake stat. Until I'm admitted to the official club of perverts I've got a few more so close snaps after the jump...

If Twitter does collapse the thing that will make me the saddest will be the loss of the several ongoing threads I have there that get updated a lot. So much gratuitous content possibly lost unto the ether! So this is just a reminder that while you still can you should make sure to check out our thread devoted to 2023 The Year of Armpits, which I keep getting the opportunity to update like twice a day. When I started it I really didn't think it would be this constant, but once you start looking for armpits it turns out armpits are everywhere! And I ain't mad.

Chris Hemsworth is on the cover of this months' issue of British GQ looking, you know, like Chris Hemsworth. Handsome and shit. Whatever. He thinks he's all that! A gorgeous funny movie star with a god-like physique. Well I write on the internet -- take that! Ahem. Sorry, not sure what came over me. Anyway -- Chris Hemsworth. He made another Extraction movie for some reason (that reason is money) and he's on the cover of magazines for it. I haven't read the interview in this GQ yet (read it here) but apparently he talks some about an actually interesting movie he's making...

... which would be Furiosa, the Mad Max Fury Road prequel with George Miller and Anya Taylor-Joy. And listen -- I know it's exceptional foolishness to ever doubt George Miller, but... how do you even come close to topping Fury Road? The greatest action movie of the past... well at least of this century, but sometimes I think we should just go ahead and call it the greatest action movie ever made. I worry Furiosa can't help but feel lesser? Well even a little lesser it will still kick ass I suppose, so whatever, I can't wait. Hit the jump for all the new Chris photos...

A happy belated 33 (aka the Jesus Year) to Liam Hemsworth! I have been better about keeping tabs on his upcoming movie Land of Bad on Twitter (see here) than I have here on the site (see here), so let's make up for that now. I don't know if he ever wears that mustache seen above in the film (the first promotional image from it has him sans stache) but that video was taken on the set of the movie, so maybe it shows up at some point in the film. Or maybe him and his co-stars Ricky Whittle and Milo Ventimiglia were just doing some role-play in the film's make-up trailer. Whatever the case I dig it.
