I don't know if this is the new issue of GQ's cover-shoot but I sure hope it isn't because there is exactly one exciting picture of Tom Holland at GQ today and you're looking at it there above -- we're grateful for all that gam, believe you me, but when he looks like a CEO's son playing golf with dad in matching beige in every other photo something's gone very wrong! Or probably for Tom's team "right" -- I have a feeling he's being coached to seem boring and safe or for lack of a more precise descriptor straight. I mean nothing particularly pointed by that remark, I don't know his business! But with most of the actors his age being riskier with their choices, both on-screen and fashion-wise, I do believe they've chosen a more middlebrow lane for our current webslinger du jour. (Whither the "Umbrella" dancer in drag Tom???) But seriously no shade. He's got Zendaya, he's got those legs. Rock your beige! Hit the jump for the entire shoot (or take a Xanax, it'll have the same effect)...

I Think I'll Go For a (Spider) Walk Outside Now
Even though I'm as ever superhero agnostic I'll always share a trailer for a Spider-Man movie --everybody loves Spier-Man and I am not immune to this. Not when they keep finding adorable twinks to fill out the skin-tight spandex and yes, Tom Holland is somehow still falling, against all odds of age, under that metric. Plus it's fun to see Jon Bernthal's sexy-ass Punisher from Daredevil showing up to order him around (and by "fun" I mean "deeply erotic" obviously) -- and speaking of Daredevil, is this him:
I'd love Charlie Cox to come along for the ride! (And feel free to impose all the filthy puns into that phrase as you see fit.) That said this teaser is... a little underwhelming. He's fighting ninjas? Okay. If you say so. Watch:
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is out on July 31st.

A Little Tom Holland Treat
The first official images from Christopher Nolan's film of The Odyssey have started to land (via the new issue of Empire magazine I believe) and I figured it would be this shot of Tom Holland playing the character of Telemachus that would blow up all y'all skirts the best. This movie's not out until July 17th 2026 so we've got some time to decide whether we give a shit -- well I suppose "we" really equals "me" since I'm the biggest Nolan naysayer around. And yet! And yet I did like Oppenheimer. So maybe I'll like this one even more and Nolan will suddenly become a director I appreciate again, which hasn't really been a thing since Memento. (Okay okay I do mostly like The Dark Knight too.) With a cast that includes Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Anne Hathaway, Mia Goth, Jon Bernthal, Zendaya, Logan Marshall-Green, Lupita Nyong'o and Samantha Morton (among others) there'll certainly be somebody worth staring at most of the time... but then Nolan's always gotten big starry casts which he then usually squanders. I'm trying to be optimistic, really! How are y'all feeling about the prospects on this one?

Cosmo Jarvis Three Times
Big day for Cosmo-stans as not only was he featured in that Warfare clip I shared earlier but we've also got news of his next project, and it's a biggun -- he's just joined the vast cast of Chris Nolan's upcoming epic take on The Odyssey (thx Mac). No idea who he's playing in it but he's got a face for skirts and he joins the already announced (the movie is actually already filming) cast of (deep breath) Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, John Leguizamo, Benny Safdie, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, Mia Goth, Shiloh Fernandez, Himesh Patel, Elliott Page, Bill Irwin, Samantha Morton, Jesse Garcia, Will Yun Lee and Corey Hawkins. We have of course been in the Cosmo-corner ever since we first saw him opposite Florence Pugh in Lady Macbeth -- it took Shōgun for the rest of the world to catch up but that's fine because Shōgun is ace. And I know I should know better than to expect anything homosexual from Nolan but my god with this cast of actors and Ancient Greece as your setting... I mean we all know what Achilles and Patroclus were getting up to dammit!

Tom Holland Eighteen Times
Tom Holland! Ringing in the New Year like a mofo! This photoshoot from Men's Health had been teased all holiday weekend (week? I don't know what day it is) with grainy quality copies popping up on social media but now we've got the real hi-res deal and that little bout of edging was worth it -- click these individual photos and hoo boy do they embiggen. It's like you can lick each ab (and why wouldn't you want to?) Someone said they thought this new shredded body is probably for his role in Christopher Nolan's next movie -- his over-the-break announced adaptation of The Odyssey -- and that makes sense to me...
... although I did say in reply that every actor is expected to have a ridiculous body like this right now, so it's probably also (and mainly) that. Not that I am complaining! I am well passed the point of personally murdering myself for unreasonable body expectations so I can just happily look on. Be healthy, kids! Et cetera. Tom's got fifty people sculpting those abdominals for him. For us! (And being Zendaya's arm candy isn't a part-time job either.) Okay I have done my New Years responsible person due diligence -- now let's hit the jump for the entire shoot (photographed by our fave queer horror director Carter Smith no less)...

Good Morning, World
It's just a couple of weeks until Tom Holland's birthday
-- have you thought about what you'd like to give him?

Good Morning, World
I haven't watched Tom Holland's show The Crowded Room on Apple+ because, well, everybody said it was terrible. If any of you have watched or are in the process of watching it and have a different opinion, please feel free to share it in the comments. The only thing I know about it is that Tom...
... gets a little gay in it, and that's not not convincing me to watch. What I am saying is I could be convinced pretty easily. Anyway the show apparently co-stars this dude here who goes by Sam Vartholomeos, and... he's also working to convince me to watch. Basically I might be convinced already, is my point. (pics via)

Good Morning, World
I haven't really felt like watching Tom Holland's new series The Crowded Room on Apple because it got bad reviews and I've just had way too much on my plate as of late with Tribeca etc. to watch something not worth my time. But I have just been shown (seen above) Tom walking around in blue briefs on the show and I have begun to rethink my choices. Maybe my time isn't more important than that? And then there was also this bit of information from an interview at THR with Tom on the show:
"... Holland had been shooting all the physically demanding sequences — fight sequences, dance sequences, even several athletic sex scenes, including one with another man in a cramped bathroom stall. “I think it is a first [for me],” Holland says about the same-sex love scene. “It’s not a milestone, though. It’s not something that I’m like, ‘Oh, wow. I got to play my first character with a different sexual preference than I have.’ It’s obviously a little more complicated than that. It felt very important to tell the story authentically.”"
Yes, Tom. Authentic, please. Be very very authentic.
Anyway -- have any of you watched any of it yet?

... you can learn from:
Please Baby Please (2022)
Arthur: I won't be terrorized into acting likea savage just because I was born male. AndI don't want to be rewarded for it either.
A happy 34 to Harry Melling today! The former Harry Potter actor has become one of my faves over the past couple of years thanks to the performance cited above in one of my favorite movies of last year. He was electric and unexpectedly sexy in that (him and Karl Glusman had crazy chemistry)...
And then also weirdly enough I also loved his turn as a wild-eyed country preacher-man in the otherwise-mostly-forgettable flick The Devil All the Time with Tom Holland and Robert Pattinson. He walked right off with that movie, and given its ridiculously stacked cast that's saying something. I get so excited when he pops up in things now. And next up for him he's the star of Michael Winterbottom's new movie, so I don't think we need to worry about this fascinating presence going anywhere any time soon.

Happy InDePlaidPants Day 2022
For the third year in a row I am giving you people something to actually celebrate on July 4th, since the thought of celebrating "America" these days makes anyone with a sane brain break out in hives -- Happy InDePlaidPants Day! Wherein we instead tip our hats toward a bunch of photos of of attractively styled actors wearing this site's namesake pants o' plaid! Okay okay let's not be "controversial" -- you can also celebrate "America" if you want to. I won't smack the sparkler out of anybody's hands. These two things can coexist. I don't want a bunch of mouth-breathing red-hatters deciding to boycott plaid pants or anything. (As if they'd have the fashion capabilities in the first place.) We're just here for pictures (and to hate Republicans), hit the jump for the pictures (and just hate the Republicans inside of your hearts)...

Dare To Be The Devil You Dream
You gotta know I'm busy when it's taken me over twenty-four hours to post THIS news -- although it's not been confirmed by Marvel or Disney or the Cox-man himself Variety has sources telling them that two writers have been hired to work on a new Daredevil series for Disney+, y'all! I don't think I will be stoned in the public square for spoiling anything when I mention that Charlie Cox did indeed show up as the lawyer Matt Murdock in the last Spider-Man movie, aka the character he already played for three wonderful (if cruelly shaven) seasons for Netflix. The writers are Matt Corman and Chris Ord, who have previously worked on the shows Covert Affairs and The Brave and The Enemy Within and no I don't know what those shows are either, but congratulations to these men. The only note I have for them is this: make sure you specify that this Daredevil is set in a different universe of the Multiverse than the Netflix series was set in, because in this universe, in the MCU universe, Matt Murdock doesn't shave his goddamned anything. Here is what the MCU's Matt Murdock looks like, and you're welcome:

Tom Holland Sixteen Times
A new-ish batch of Tom Holland for Prada photos were dropped yesterday (via) -- these go along with what we saw of this campaign back in January, posted right here. As much as I like Tom I find him a weird fit for high fashion modeling, don't you? As driven home whenever he's tried to play it edgier in his not-Spider-Man roles (see Cherry and The Devil All the Time) part of what endears him to us (if he endears to you at all) is his regular boy shtick, Regular boy with laser-cut abdominals, I mean. Basically he looks like a kid playing dress-up, is my point. A cute kid! But maybe he should leave the sultry fashion poses to his girlfriend slash co-star. Anyway yes I just sort of shit-talked these photos but I have them for you anyway, after the jump...

Good Morning, World
Have you pre-ordered your blu-ray of Spider-Man: No Way Home yet? Let this serve your reminder that you should pre-order your blu-ray of Spider-Man: No Way Home now. (It is out on April 12th.) Let this also serve as a reminder to the perma-dweebs accusing me of hating popular movies (like with The Batman, for example) that I gave this one a big ol' rave review when it came out. I suppose those same dweebs will turn this into some sort of Marvel vs DC argument then, but at least then I'll have something new to laugh about. In summation, gams:

Who Wore It Best?
Mr. Holland (Tom, that is) just dropped this photo on Instagram -- uhhh, spoiler alert for the latest Spider-Man, although if you've made it these many months using the internet without having this spoiled for you and it's also a thing you care about having this spoiled for you I owe you more than a "spoiler alert," I owe you like one thousand dollars -- which is of course playing on the famous Spider-Man meme that has three animated Spider-Men in costume doing the exact same pose. I am not a big enough nerd in this respect to actually know the origin of that meme -- I think it's from a cartoon? If any of you want to explain its origin to me and save me from a google (a google that will never happen) I'd love to hear it! Anyway, we must obviously poll.

Tom Holland's Booty Search
If you're going to go see the video-game adventurer Uncharted to simply see Tom Holland in a series of wet t-shirts and bulging khakis (see down below) then you're going to get what you're looking for -- our Spider-twink looks plenty fine in the film, hitting theaters on Friday. It definitely has that much going for it! Otherwise not so much though, so be forewarned, and get your fore more warned by heading over to The Film Experience where I have properly reviewed the film today. The basic gist is I have seen far worse movies in my life, this one has some big action-movie-spectacle moments, but it's also soullessly bland to the point where it's already half-slid off my brain less than 24 hours later. I miss action movies with actual character, you guys.

Tom Holland Eight Times
I saw this Tom Holland photo-shoot last week and I didn't really plan on posting it as, well, I don't especially like it -- I'm unsold on the long hair, for one. But the red-and-black strikes me today as Valentine's appropriate, and I am seeing Tom's new movie tonight (that would be Uncharted, which... I have absolutely less than zero expectations for), and also I have nothing else to post right now -- that last one's probably the clincher, right? Anyway maybe you'll appreciate them; hit the jump for the rest...

Happy Monday, How You
Hello to you and you only! Checking in from the middle of my virtual Sundance Film Festival time off-blog to say hello and make sure this place doesn't slough off into the swamp. If you follow me on Twitter than you've seen some links to reviews that have gone up over the past few days, both from Sundance and not -- I'm not going to round them up right this minute because I'll do that on Friday, when I should be totally done with the fest and can do that properly, but you should know they are out there, in the world! Actually mainly right here at The Film Experience and right here at Pajiba. Those links will be helpful for the time being, and more helpful as more time, uhhh, be's. For just, just a hello! Don't forget about me please!

Good Morning, World
(click to embiggen) I had to do a little digging to find a copy of this photo that included the dude that Tom Holland is posing with because the photo's been making the rounds with him edited out, but I'm glad I found it, and not just because he's sturdy enough that I don't mind visualizing Tom climbing up him like a spider -- because the smug expression on dude's face is making me laugh. That is the expression of a dude who knows he's about to get more likes on an Instagram photo than any random dude has in existence. Dude's name is Oliver Trevena, he calls himself an "entrepreneur and an actor/investor" and it looks like he produces a lot too -- weird thing is he's listed as a producer on an adaptation of the comic-series Hack/Slash (about a Final Girl who starts hunting down and killing all of the Slasher Killers) which I have talked about here on the site before (I was a fan of it when it first came out) and which I was just thinking about for the first time in ages last week for some random reason. Let's put that adaptation back out into the universe!

Today's Fanboy Delusion
Today I'd rather be...
... testing the stretch of Tom Holland's fabric.
Well this was good timing on Prada's part! Spider-boy Tom Holland is the current reigning Twink King of the the box-office with No Way Home making eight hundred tons of super-cash over the past couple of weeks, and the brand landed our It Boy to slip into, and out of, their somethings a little more comfortable for a new ad campaign. They win, you win, I especially win just because I'm taking this one.
He is wearing plaid pants after all!
Here's the full first ad:
And after the jump a couple more gifs...
