This Little Piggy Went Wee Wee Wee
.
Last month I told you a story about Tell Me a Story, Kevin "Scream" Williamson's new show that's putting a modern spin on fairy tales - I told you about it because the first name attached was Billy Magnussen. Well today the second name attached is James Wolk, and I would just like to say hello to Kevin Williamson, I am glad you're an MNPP reader and supporter, I love your work. (Teaching Mrs Tingle holla!) Via Deadline:
"Former Zoo star James Wolk is returning to the CBS fold with a lead role opposite Paul Wesley, Danielle Campbell, Billy Magnussen and Kim Catrall in CBS All Access’ straight-to-series psychological thriller Tell Me a Story, from Kevin Williamson and Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment.
Written by Williamson, Tell Me a Story takes the world’s most beloved fairy tales and reimagines them as a dark and twisted psychological thriller. Set in modern-day New York City, the first season of this serialized drama interweaves “The Three Little Pigs,” “Little Red Riding Hood” and “Hansel and Gretel” into an epic and subversive tale of love, loss, greed, revenge and murder.
Wolk will play Jordan, a young, idealistic and successful NYC restaurateur. When the unimaginable happens, Jordan’s life falls apart and he begins a decent into madness that could cost him everything, even himself."
I have no idea what to expect from this show (I'm hoping it's worlds away from the cheese of Once Upon a Time's ren-faire costumes) but at the very least Kevin Williamson has never skimped on the queer content - from the homo-erotic stylings of Billy & Stu in the first Scream to Jack on Dawson's Creek to Nico Tortorella on The Following, Kevin bless him has always looked out for us.
We've still got awhile before this show marches its sweet little butt into our living-rooms though, so to tide us over here after the jump are a dozen or so new-to-me pictures of James Wolk that I just happened to stumble upon this afternoon...

Good Morning, World
.
I'm off this morning seeing a certain movie cough cough (more on that in a minute) so to keep you company until I am back from that here are a couple pictures of everybody's favorite mouthy omnisexual Nico Tortorella (via) scrubbing his business. Hit the jump for two more bonus shots...

Good Evening, Gratuitous Nico Tortorella
.
I've tried to get other things done today but I've spent the most of the day distracted and annoyed about MNPP's Tumblr getting disappeared for some unknown reason - if the folks at Tumblr would just get back to me with some kind of an answer I'd probably get right over it but I hate not knowing and get real irritable real quick when answers aren't forthcoming. (PS Here's the new Tumblr address, in case you missed it.)
So to distract myself I looked up Nico Tortorella, as one does -- you know he'll come through because there's no harder-working narcissist out there today, bless him -- and sure enough before I knew it there were fifty thousand scorching pictures sitting somewhat moistly there in the palm of my hand. So I will share them because I don't know what else to do. Hit the jump and there they'll be...

Good Morning, World
.
Two photo-shoots of Instagram-famous actor Nico Tortorella have appeared this week - one for Gay Times and one for Rogue Magazine (thx Mac) - and they both feature his fine furry assets in spades. No I am not talking about the interviews attached to them - I learned my lesson; I don't read anything Nico has to say since what he has to say nearly always ruins the fantasy.
But he is a genuinely fine actor (I saw him on stage last year and was surprised at how good he is) and he looks like he looks, so we'll just stuff our fingers in our ears when he's not speaking somebody else's lines, and deal. Hit the jump for seventeen more pictures...

I Am Link
.
--- Down With Daddy - Multi-sexual fur-trade Nico Tortorella has signed on to play Lyle Menendez in the upcoming Lifetime movie about the Menendez brothers (in case you're too young to remember first off, fuck you for making me feel old, and secondly they killed their parents and got press because they were hot or something). Oh and last week Courtney fucking Love signed on to play the Menendez' mother. That set is going to be a hot hot mess. (thx Mac) Also it needs to be noted, as long as we're using the word "hot," that the dude playing the other brother Erik is an actor named Myko Olivier, and he was on Glee, and he is very very attractive. Sexy Killer Central...
--- Gun Nuts - It seems kind of insane to me that anyone could watch Paul Verhoeven's Robocop and not get its razor sharp satirical take on the police - same goes for the anti-war sentiment of his Starship Troopers. But what the fuck do I know - I don't seem to understand half this country (the mean, dumb half anyway). On that note here's a take arguing that Robocop is the movie of our moment, and having just re-watched the film I can only vigorously agree.
--- Here's The Beef - Thanks to our pal Jarett for calling our attention to this sizzling fresh news - Jai Courtney is starring in a movie called BEEF. It's not actually capitalized like that but I kind of feel like it oughta be, so I will type it like that every time I talk about it. BEEF. Jai's bringing the BEEF. Anyway the movie also stars Timothy Olyphant and okay I died. I died typing that. The two of them play comical scary thugs or something, it's a fast-food caper? I don't know, who cares, please please make the two of them make out. I don't ask for much!
--- Matty's Malick Made - When I posted about Matthias Schoenaerts being in a Terrence Malick movie earlier this week I didn't even realize the film was showing at Berlinale next week - Variety's got the news that the movie
has just sold to a distributor, even before showing, and they have the
first image from the film too. If Matthias was in the picture I'd be
posting it but he's not, it's the film's main stars August Diehl and
Valerie Pachner, so you can click over for it.
--- The Nose Knows - It's been a very very long time since I have seen Walt Disney's Pinnochio but I gotta fix that after reading my pal Tom Blunt's piece on the movie's weird weird weirdness
- donkey black markets and bipedal kittens and all manner of
fantastical oddities that only add up to more and more insanity the more
you think about 'em.
.
.
--- Woolf in Green Clothing - Eva Green is making a movie about one of Virginia Woolf's lesbian love affairs, which is a sentence that makes me wish I was a lesbian, because I'd love to get off to such a thing as that. I kind of will anyway! Playing her lady amour is Gemma Aterton, who I never really got until I saw that Neil Jordan vampire movie she was in - she was fantastic in that, so it is possible. Not that anybody can ever hold the screen opposite Eva. Somebody nominate this woman for a goddamned Oscar already!
--- Slash N Burn - There have been two big bits of Slasher Movie news this week - first off Paramount has effectively dumped Jason Voorhees in the dumpster, abruptly canceling this year's film that was about to start filming. Breck Eisner, who made the very fine Crazies remake, was just about to film the thing; no word on what happened. But in Michael Myers Land there's been an enormous development - David Gordon fucking Green has signed on to write and direct a new Halloween movie! His co-conspirator in nuttery Danny McBride is co-authoring the script. For a long time Green was trying to remake Suspiria, a task which eventually got taken over by Luca Guadagnino (who's already filmed the thing) - I guess he really wants to make his horror movie! I don't even know how to wrap my head around this one.
--- Dancing Girls - Oh but speaking of that Suspiria remake one of its actresses is Mia Goth (she played the young Charlotte Gainsbourg in Nymphomaniac) and she's currently giving interviews for A Cure For Wellness, which she also stars in, and she told BD that Luca Guadagnino isn't really "remaking" Argento's film, technically.

"People are going to be really pleasantly surprised to realize that it’s really not a remake at all. I think people are going to be really shocked. It’s a nod of the hat to Dario Argento and his version of ‘Suspiria’, but we really do take it to a completely different place"
I have absolutely no clue what she means, but I'm certainly curious. (Duh.) No word yet on when this movie's out but I am hoping for Halloween-time, although Luca might be too busy Call Me By Your Name related duties this fall.
--- Livin La Vida Refn - Nicholas Winding Refn is about to make a series for Amazon - ten episodes called Live and Die Young which is about the seedy underbelly of the Los Angeles crime-world; they say it will be a lot like his Pusher series of films, only with less Mads Mikkelsen rubbing his balls on-screen. Or at least I assume - maybe Nicholas can throw us a bone on that tip. Anyway they say three big name actors have already been offered roles, but they're not giving up names yet. Fingers sniffed crossed for a reunion!

Today's Fanboy Delusion
Today I'd rather be...
Let it be known that if you are going to stand in a leave-nothing-to-the-imagination unitard in a field with some cows then you're gonna get some milking jokes made at your expense. Although calling that a "joke" is generous -- it's more of a "wish my heart is making" but whatever.
Hey, Nico! We hadn't checked your Instagram in a little bit and I think you maybe noticed because you've been giving it your all, really daring us to not look. Well we're looking! We're looking and we're looking hard and we're looking good. See all the hard goodness that we're looking at after the jump...

Good Morning, World
.
It's been awhile since we checked in on Nico Tortorella's Instagram account, but since we're seeing him on stage next week in the new play Crude it seemed a good moment to give him a look. Make sure he's in shape for our rendezvous, that is. All looks good! We're clear for lift-off. Hit the jump for a couple more...

Good Morning, World
.
This picture of Nico Tortorella popped up on his Instagram a full two weeks ago but I've been saving it for a morning when I felt like tossing this "Good Morning, World" post off quick-like (because what else is there to say about Nico Tortorella that isn't said in that Instagram picture)... and here we are. Funnily enough there is something about him to share for a change that's not just "abs bulge abs polysexual abs" -- he's starring in an Off-Broadway show starting at the end of this month called Crude, which you can read about over here. So there! You're welcome, Nico.

Good Morning, World

Oh Nico Tortorella, I just can't quit you. You're the smack of Insta-studs. In case you missed the thirteen thousand pictures and videos that he and his "good friend" the hair-stylist Kyle Krieger posted while in Utah last week there's now a new video which you can watch right here that's got it all, like them laying in bed together, and them skiing together, and them taking hot tubs together in just some skimpy little speedos...
Like I said, it all.
Hit the jump for a curated taste of said all...

Good Morning, World
.
I really have got to toss some gratuitous gratitude Nico Tortorella's way, because he has given me, amongst other things, an easy out several times over when it's come to the daily grind of getting one of these "Good Morning, World" posts flung together when I don't have other inspiration -- just head on over to his Instagram and wham bam thank you Nico, we're done.
Anyway there is sort of some actual news having to do with him -- he has been all over the place this past week telling anybody that would listen that he is one of those "doesn't believe in labels" types.
How nice for him! This is probably incredibly GAY of me (oh god, those exhausting LABELS) but whenever I hear somebody say they don't believe in labels my first thought is Soapdish...

I Am Link
.
--- Sharp Pair - This pairing might just be too hot for the world, honestly - I don't know if we could take Idris Elba and Kate Winslet starring opposite each other in a sexy spy thriller. But we might get it, so we should prepare ourselves! Three pairs of underpants, everybody! It is called All the Old Knives, based on a book by Olen Steinhauer, and Neil Berger, director of the first Divergent movie (which Kate was in) is set to direct. Anyone read the book? I was just thinking the other day that I'd really love to see Kate lean hard into sexy sometime soon - I guess we've got The Dressmaker coming too, though.
.
.
--- And Speaking of Kate, has she said anything about Alan Rickman yet? I know they were super close, she was weirdly my first thought when I heard the news. We live in a weird invasive world. But anyway my post yesterday memorializing Alan Rickman
was brief because I was busy but you should know I adored Rickman and
his death sucks, it really really sucks. In case you didn't know that,
now you do! Glad I could convince you with my eloquence. Anyway this piece at Vulture saluting his genre-defining work in the first Die Hard film is impossible to beat. Hans Gruber forever.
.
--- The Fur Trade - I haven't bothered watching this video yet because if you follow me on Instagram you know all I have any interest in posting there is dorky artsy-fartsy stuff, and I doubt that Nico Tortorella's advice on how to slut up your app will tell me anything I need to know. That said I assume the video has Nico Tortorella stripping off his clothes in it, since that's his specialty, so I will surely watch it at some point, because I am an easy sell.

--- For Scary Times - It was way way back in December of 2013 that we first heard that the classic children's head-fuckery of Scary Stories To Tell in the Dark was going to be turned into a movie, and it took two plus years for the only reasonable and proper answer to reveal itself: nobody should be doing this except for Guillermo Del Toro. And he is! Okay for now he's just producing it but I can't imagine him not directing, right? I'm right now picturing Doug Jones in make-up as all the horrors those illustrations contained and just about shitting myself with glee, as seen here:
.
--- Cool it Krueger - Everybody dig out your boxed-sets of Nightmare on Elm Street movies and spend the whole weekend preparing yourselves, for next week over at Final Girl the one and only Stacie Ponder will be tackling the entire series, give or take whatever the hell she feels like giving or taking. I hope she writes ten thousand words on that part where Nancy's Mom takes the vodka bottle out from under some towels in the hall closet, because that is what that scene deserves.
.
--- Triple X Xenomorph - I really love a ton of Ridley Scott movies so I felt weird that I felt nothing when he was "snubbed" a nomination for The Martian, a film that is... fine, just fine, perfectly adequate. I tend to find the concept of "career tribute" nominations suspect though. Anyway he's gearing up to work on the new Alien movie (slash Prometheus movie, or whatever) and he told the press backstage at the Golden Globes that it will be totally super hard R-rated, which probably means violence, but seeing as how there are supposed to be multiple Michael Fassbenders in the film, I am taking to mean a Fassy space orgy of epic explicit proportions. Then Ridley will deserve his damn Oscar!
.
--- Hot Snubbin' - I mentioned some of this stuff yesterday but I trust you're keeping up with The Film Experience's team looks at all of the Oscar nominations - I've been too busy to participate but seeing as how I'm violently ambivalent about the Oscars it's probably for the best anyway. But here's the Team's take on the things that didn't get nominated that they are sad about, and here's the Team's take on things that did got nominated that they find inexplicable (my answer would be like 60-70% of the stuff).
.
.--- And Finally there is no way in hell I am watching this video myself but here's a so-called "sizzle reel" of footage from the new limited run of The X-Files, which begins airing on January 24th -- so soon!!! I'm not spoiling myself any more, I've started running out of the room f a commercial comes on TV at this point.

Skimming through my Twitter feed this morning as I walked to work, seeing my beloved gay compatriots reactions to Carol and Todd Haynes not getting Oscar nominations, I think this picture of Nico Tortorella naked rolled up in the fetal position speaks for you all.

Good Morning, World
.
I usually just post Nico Tortorella's Instagram pictures over on the Tumblr now because he posts them so often (not complaining! I am not complaining, Nico!) that he'd take the blog over if I kept up here. But this picture he posted the other day seemed nice enough to warrant the attention (plus I have got other things to do this morning and this was easy -- A-ha! My real motives reveal themselves). Anyway I wanted to tell you guys who offered them thanks for the kind words of wellness, I'm feeling much better today (that could be the medicine talking but I don't think so) and once I get myself together we'll do some actual blogging! 'Magine that.

Good Morning, World
.
So I gather by all of the pictures Nico Tortorella's been posting of himself shirtless flashing the date that his show Younger returns to the air (see below) that his show Younger returns to the air on January 12th? I will make a mental note - it will go like this: uhhhhhhhhhhhh nipples. That's as far as I keep getting. January 12th is a long time away though - if he's already using this much skin this far out, I really look forward to Christmas this year!

Eyes on the Prize, Nico Tortorella
.
Okay so out of guilt about all these posts I get out of Nico being a righteous Instagram self-exploiter I told myself, "Self, go to his damn IMDb page, see what he's doing, maybe you'll find something to talk about besides making a lame-ass drool euphemism."
And it paid off! It paid off like gangbusters! Because suddenly there on his IMDb page was a TV Movie called Mamma Dallas. I thought to myself, "Self, could this be a remake of Stella Dallas? Stanwyck or Midler Editions?" And so I clicked on it and whatever it is it is written and directed by Mike White. Yes Mike White of Enlightened and Chuck and Buck and everything else that's been good ever. What what? All it says on IMDb is it's for HBO and it's about "A Texas couple [who] hire a drag queen as their live-in nanny."
But... wait. Let's not get too excited after all. Cuz then I thought to myself, "Self, do some more checking on this." And so I did, and it seems as if this was a pilot that MW was doing for the cable company, one that they didn't pick up, as of this past May. DAMN THEM. I don't know how I missed all of this -- I swear this wasn't on Nico's IMDb page the last time I looked at it. I'm pretending that's true anyway, and that HBO's decided to air the shelved pilot as a TV Movie now. Optimism, and furry abs -- it's what's in.

Good Morning, Nico
.
When I mentioned Nico Tortorella in yesterday's "Good Morning, World" post as being an exemplary narcissist for the Instagram Experiment I had no idea today would be his 27th birthday and we'd be back here, using up the goodies he's offered as of late to wish him a happy one. But it is and here we are and I'm fine with that.
Nico is clearly fine with it as well. See lots more of him here. It's weird that his birthday isn't listed on IMDB though isn't it? I had to find out via, where else, Nico himself, where he wished himself a happy birthday by posting, what else, a shirtless (or perhaps probably naked) picture of himself.
Why am I not surprised that he's a Leo? Anyway Nico was also spotted this week (via JJ, thanks Mac) soaking up some sunshine (not to mention some spotlight) on vacation in Palm Springs. He's making me think of that episode of The Comeback where Val goes to that chic desert hotel and all those LA douchebags camp out for the poolside seats (remember Marky Mark's butt?)... Nico is so The Comeback, you guys. They so should have had him dating Mark's daughter Francesca in the second season. Okay anyway hit the jump for more pics...

Nope I have no idea what's going on with Nico on Instagram -- he appears to be friends with a photographer and they're working on some strange sexy art project together. But you know if I've got to suffer thru some pink elephant parade bullshit to ogle some him-flesh, I'll do it. Ten times over. And I'll hit the jump for more...
