I know I said I was gone for the holiday but... come on!!!! ESPN's "Body Issue" with Patriot's hunk Julian Edelman naked on the cover - the one that we posted and giffed that behind the scenes video to earlier this week - is nearly on stands and the magazine's Instagram account posted this moving cover yesterday. Now there's your goddamned fireworks.

The issue is on the stands July 8th!

Does anybody have any good "wide receiver" jokes? I really need one here in the wake of the news that Julian Edelman is going to be naked in this year's "Body Issue" of ESPN's magazine. The magazine is not out until next month but they've gone and released a behind-the-scenes video, and...

... it's heaven. Heaven! There are other people worth looking at in it - openly gay Gus Kenworthy and the great big footballer Ezekiel Elliott spring to mind - but Julian is in his own league, and has been ever since I first saw him way back when rocking a great big beard and a lot of boisterous energy. I know the folks behind the Super Bowl are trying to lure atypical non-sporting-fanatic viewers with all their fancy expensive commercials and diva-worship half-time shows, but unless Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola start stripping off their football uniforms mid-game to reenact their hot bro videos together they're never gonna hook me. So I missed this Baywatch ad when it aired, and I have Manuel to thank for alerting me to it over at The Film Experience. For those of you who keep up with sports you're probably gonna side-eye me for this one, especially since I've been so hyper-aware of his teammates Tom Brady and Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski, but somehow the jock beauty of New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola had completely escaped me until yesterday, yes yesterday.

And I'm sure I'm not even the first person to comment upon this but what is going on with the Patriots hotness-wise? Does Tom Brady insist on only being surrounded by the most beautiful people, or what? If so Tom Brady deserves all of his Super Bowl rings and billions of dollars, I don't care how many balls he puts his lips onto to inflate. (That was the controversy, right?)

Anyway, hi there Danny Amendola! I should probably use this here Super Bowl Weekend moment of gratuity for someone on one of the actual teams playing this weekend but I honestly have absolutely zero idea who is in the Super Bowl this weekend. I could google it, but... no. I don't care! I hope the ascendancy of Julian Edelman as a hot piece of jock ass wasn't slowed down by that ball deflating thing. Everything got laid on Brady, right? Brady's past his hot prime so I'm fine with letting him go in exchange for this one here. I prefer Julian with his big full beard but he's perfectly acceptable this way too!
