Good Morning, World
Hello! I have returned, prodigal son like, unto the blogosphere. After five days off seeing family and friends that I hadn't seen in nigh two years I got to lay on my own couch and watch Mare of Easttown and sleep in my own bed and all feel's well. I needed to hug my people again but by the end of it I needed to get back to my things again too -- funny how being trapped inside your apartment for a year and a half thanks to a global pandemic reconfigures your ability to socialize, huh? Anyway I had a very fine time but I'm happy to be back posting photos of Nick Jonas for y'all this morning too. (There are more here.) Now let's go figure out what else I missed...

Chaos in the Making
Back in March of 2012 the first Hunger Games movie had come out, and by that April I was already posting about how studios were rushing to adapt every Young Adult novel in existence. One of them was Patrick Ness' trilogy of Chaos Walking books, which got no less than Mr. Charlie Kaufman attached to adapt, which got no less than yours truly to read the books immediately. And they're pretty good, I recall! (I remind you, it's been eight years.) Very weird, and seemingly un-filmable, with their noisy clouds of visible thoughts -- an idea which you can see would draw somebody like Charlie Kaufman in. Anyway that was eight years ago -- eventually Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley and...
... Mads Mikkelsen got cast and Go director Doug Liman got hired and the movie took ages to make and then it sat on a shelf for more ages and I think they reshot a bunch of it at one point and and now we have a trailer, voila. (Funny enough you can see Tom Holland's age jump around in just this footage here.) The movies, they can be weird and wily beasts towards the finish line. Anyway here's the trailer:
Once Charlie Kaufman got the kibosh and this thing got delayed and delayed I have to admit my interest waned, but we'll see when it "comes out" in January -- a January release! Always a good sign! But if nothing else it appears that Spider-twink spends a lot of the movie in a tank top, so all's not lost. On that note I made some gifs of precisely that, right on after the jump...

Ed Skrein Rescue Us
.
So I tried to watch Midway last night and oh my god you guys that movie is actually unwatchable! Just absolute unwatchable trash -- I couldn't even finish it, and if I can't finish a movie that stars Patrick Wilson, Woody Harrelson, Luke Evans, Nick Jonas, Alexander Ludwig, Dennis Quaid, Darren Criss, Aaron Eckhart and our favorite fucked-up Nicky Hoult doppleganger Ed Skrein here all in period military uniforms then you know something has gone very very very wrong. Part of me kind of enjoys the fact that we've got our own hyper-faggy Michael Bay with Roland Emmerich -- The Gays can make Hollywood Crap too, dammit! But man this movie is one long window-shaking fart. Ugh.
There weren't even nearly enough shots like that of Patrick Wilson from behind! What were you thinking, Emmerich??? Anyway for the forty minutes of the movie I did make it through the only thing keeping me hanging on was looking at Ed Skrein, and as I distracted myself by also googling him while the interminable movie droned on and on I realized that I have somehow never posted this photo-shoot of Ed here on the blog proper? I think it's on the Tumblr but MNPP home-base deserves these shots, especially after all the suffering I went through staring at that movie last night. Hit the jump for the rest plus a bonus one...

Good Morning, World
.
I'm real happy that technology allows me the ability to gif the new Jonas Brothers video for us all this morning without having to actually listen to the new Jonas Brothers song -- everybody wins! In all seriousness I've only heard snippets of the Jonasi singing before -- I think I accidentally didn't fast-forward quickly enough past an SNL performance -- and that was, uhh, plenty, but I don't mind looking at them! Well...
... Nick anyway. Especially recreating Tom Cruise's famous tighty-whities dance from Risky Business. Especially that. The video, which is for a song called "What a Man Gotta Do" (to which the answer is apparently forget the 'Apostrophe S'"), can be viewed here is you're feeling so inclined. Who am I to judge? (I judge.) The gifs on the other hand are here on this very website you're on right now, right here after this jump...

Lots of Privates on Display
.
Grab the biggest pistol within reach and ready yourself, for the second trailer for Midway is here! Roland Emmerich, gay director of Independence Day and Stonewall, has scooped up all the hot pieces -- Luke Evans and Patrick Wilson and Darren Criss and Nick Jonas and Alexander Ludwig and Ed Skrein...
... and Aaron Eckhart and Dennis Quaid and Woody Harrelson and a ton of young actors who I don't know by name yet but who will inevitably look real gosh darn cute in their WWII uniforms -- for his recreation of the famous battle, out in theaters on November 8th. The first trailer is at this link but you probably don't need that now, since here's the bigger one:

One thing I will add: did you catch the character posters?

Good Morning, World
.
This isn't the sort of thing I would usually open the day with -- nobody's brushing their teeth or in the shower... unfortunately -- but these the first pictures of all of Roland Emmerich's boyfriends in his WWII picture Midway, fetishized up in the crispest coded outfits you ever did see, well they woke me up this morning. Are we sure this isn't the Tom of Finland biopic? We're supposedly getting the trailer soon and no doubt I'll share that... ETA oh wait here it is:
.
.
... there are a couple more photos at that link above but I grabbed the ones that really matter (as in Patrick Wilson and Ed Skrein and Darren Criss and Aaron Eckhart and so forth) and have them for you after the jump...Tuesday, June 04, 2019
The Poster For Midgay I Mean Midway
.
Given the cast that openly gay blockbuster director Roland Emmerich has (putting the ass in) assembled for Midway, his big-screen telling of the 1942 WWII battle -- which includes Luke Evans and Woody Harrelson and Patrick Wilson and Ed Skrein and Alexander Ludwig and Nick Jonas and Darren Criss and Aaron Eckhart and those are just the name actors, check out the whole twink-full list here -- you'd think that the first poster for the film (via) might look more like a greasy beefcake scene from infamous annual Herndon Monument naval academy pole-climb. Something like...
Maybe they're saving that for closer to its
release date? Midway is out on November 8th.

Fly By Ludwig
.
I guess I should probably just sit on my hands for a bit - not a bad proposition, with these pictures in front of me - and wait for Roland Emmerich to finish announcing all the man-meat he's tossing in his movie grinder for his World War II picture called Midway - just a couple of hours ago I told y'all how Darren Criss was joining the cast already stuffed with the likes of Luke Evans & Patrick Wilson & Woody Harrelson & Ed Skrein & Aaron Eckhart & Dennis Quaid & Nick Jonas. And now comes word that Alexander Ludwig here...
... who is mostly known for the TV show Vikings - and you can click thru our archives on the actor right here to acquaint yourself better! - well you can lather him up and throw Alex right on top of the Midway cast and call him the cherry! (Thx Mac) At least temporarily, that is, until some fresh twink gets gathered up into Emmerich's broad embrace. Anyway like I did with Darren -- because why post one picture when you can post a dozen? -- I've got some more pictures for you after the jump...
All The Boys Go To War
.
I was watching The Young Lions on TCM last night - if you're unfamiliar The Young Lions is a 1958 movie set in Tunisia during WWII that stars Marlon Brando (as a bleached out Nazi) and Montgomery Clift and Maximilian Schell, and reader, it is sexual. (See some pictures we've posted before right here.) They're all punching each other in uniforms and sweating in their bunkers - typical homoerotic military movie stuff.
Anyway I thought of that movie upon reading the news this morning that (openly gay) director Roland Emmerich has just hired Darren Criss to co-star in his upcoming WWII movie called Midway, opposite the previously announced Luke Evans and Patrick Wilson and Woody Harrelson and Ed Skrein and Aaron Eckhart and Dennis Quaid and, uhh, Nick Jonas. I can't imagine why I thought of a bunch of sweaty beautiful men in uniform. I just... did. So there's a movie to look forward to! To tide us over hit the jump for a couple more from this Esquire shoot of Darren...

Nick Jonas Gets Walking
.
I had already forgotten that Chaos Walking was finally happening - last we'd heard was way back in November when Spider-twink Tom Holland signed on the play the YA trilogy's male lead, and Daisy Ridley the female one. Well they're plowing ahead with the thing now and today comes word that Nick Jonas is joining the film too, and besides that something I totally missed - Mads Mikkelsen is apparently playing the villain? Whaaaaat? Score!
Everything's coming up Mads today. (See Also.) And that's not even getting to Demian Bichir, also in the movie, and the fact that Doug Liman is directing. Sidenote: I tried to watch Doug Liman's most recent movie The Wall starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson as a solider... trapped behind a wall... but I was bored ten minutes in and stopped. Hopefully that was just a Rope-like experiment Liman was playing with and he'll bring his big stuff for Chaos Walking, because I really loved Patrick Ness' series of books.
Have any of you read them yet? I will admit I am sad that Charlie Kaufman's not making this movie like had been the initial rumor - can you imagine? I am sure his ideas were too weird for a big studio - the books, which are about sound itself, are very very weird though. I hope this version doesn't tamp down what made them interesting in the first place and just turn them into a generic YA thing.

Good Morning, World
.
The series finale of Kingdom airs this Wednesday and judging by where things currently stand I don;'t think it will make time for anymore Jonathan Tucker nudity so I'm glad they managed to stick some into this past week's episode, as a gift to those of us who have appreciated it. And we have appreciated it and then some! Click here to bounce back through our appreciations thereof. And hit the jump for a couple more gifs from this past week's scene...

Joe Jonas Thirteen Times
.
I know there'll be a lot of "Nick's hotter no Joe's hotter" talk (lord knows I have engaged in such speculation myself) while looking at these new images of Joe Jonas modeling for Guess, but listen...
... when brothers start competing for underpants dollars, we all win. We're all winners here! Well, except for Kevin. Never Kevin. (pics via, thx Mac) Hit the jump for ten more pictures...

Which is Hotter?
.
Joe & Nick Jonas seem to be having a sexy-off right now via their respective magazine spreads (see more of Nick's recent stuff right here) and so even though I'm sure we've asked this question in the past the time has come to take stock anew and ask it once again...
.
And hit the jump for a few more shots of Joe...

Who Wore It Best?
.
Add another one to the pile of Hot Nick Jonas Photo-shoots -- he's on the cover of this month's issue of Wonderland (via) and inside the magazine it's a celebration of the boxer brief. Or, more precisely, Nick Jonas and his legs sticking out of boxer briefs. A fine thing to celebrate.
Worthy. Anyway these shots reminded me of a couple of gifs of Chris Hemsworth that were recently sent my way (thx Mac); I have no idea what they're from, the source didn't include a video, but well...
... they're worth our time all the same.
But it also does force me to ask...

Pics of the Day
.
A photo posted by Jason Adams (@jasonaadams) on
.
Did you hear that hey I met Jonathan Tucker this weekend? If you follow me on any social media platform you probably did because good goddamn I couldn't stop talking about it. Forgive me, I was excited -- it was exciting. The Vulture Festival held a screening of the third season premiere of Kingdom and most of the cast attended (I think it was pretty much all of the main actors except for Nick Jonas, who's on tour right now) and I managed to grab Mr. Tucker at the after-party for a quick snap. He was profoundly kind, and expressed his gratitude for all the yammering I do about him on the internet (yes, he is aware of MNPP), and I relished the moment.
You can hit up my Instagram (just scroll down a bit) if you missed the other couple of pictures from the event that I posted - the cast seemed to genuinely enjoy each other's company, and to be thankful for the work they get to do on the show. Speaking of the season premiere was terrific, and you should all be watching the show. Bountiful beefcake aside (big aside, I know) they've got rock-solid chemistry after three years and there is fine acting going on. (There's one scene in the premiere where Tucker really oughta be considered awards-worthy.)

The show starts back up on June 1st!

Good Morning, Gratuitous Frank Grillo
.
Kingdom is back in a few weeks for its third season, and with Frank Grillo out there kicking some ass in the number one movie of the year (so far) it seemed a good enough time for this sort of thing. Oh and a new trailer for the latest Purge movie popped up earlier this week, too!
.
.
For all their ham-fisted obviousness I do admire the Purge movies balls - they really put 'em out there. (I guess they got that instinct from Frank himself.) Anyway Mr. Grillo is quite literally everywhere right now, so he should clealy be here in my Pants too. (See our previous posts on him here.)
Speaking of -- I will be actually seeing him and Jonathan Tucker and Matt Lauria live and in the flesh tomorrow! They're doing a panel at the Vulture Festival for Kingdom, and I will be there! So keep yourselves glued to my Instagram for updates, I suppose. Okay most of these pictures are via here and here; and right now you can hit the jump for the rest...
