Édition originale en LP Sonopresse HY 39902
(FRANCE, 1970)

Lovely. Half the songs are translated/adapted from English. Arrangers are Micky Jones, Tommy Brown & Jean-Pierre Sabar, Saint-Preux, Bernard Estardy, Simon Napier-Bell and Jean-Claude Vannier: the cream from French and British scenes of 1970. Finally, devoid of that binding poetic inclinations, Françoise recorder her best album. Perhaps it was a bit late ("Soleil"'s heart and soul literally belong to the mid 60's) but does it really matter? As subtle as seahorses made of sepiolite and as beguiling as Kom Ombo hieroglyphics this is Françoise's masterpiece that you can put next to the very best of British Baroque Pop (Rubber Soul, Between The Buttons, Odessey and Oracle) not feeling disconcerted at all.
