Rato Records brings to you a huge collection of 29 classic songs from this 60's vocal trio, formed in 1960 by two students at Brigham Young University, Jim Pike and Bob Engemann, with a lounge singer named Tony Butala. The Lettermen's close-harmony pop songs with light and easy arrangements (in Carpenters' style) made them quite a successful group with adult audiences during the 1960s, when changing styles and tastes made many older listeners feel just a bit left behind in the music world. Maybe some of the youngsters of those years (I was one of them...) called this kind of music as "kitsch" or "démodée", but forty years later these tunes are still very enjoyable to listen to. Well, the times has really changed...
