Original released on LP Sentar SST-3001
(US, June 1967)
Chicago's New Colony Six were a very strong unit and didn't rely on that Chitown gimmick: horns to make stellar rock (The American Breed, The Buckinghams, Chicago Transit Authority, etc.) This second Lp leaned more towards a pop-garage sound and acts like an antihistamine for the mind. The opening track alone with the sharp snare fills of "Chick" will make you play it over and over again. Even their more mellow ballad songs dig deeper than typical 60's mainsteam top forty junk. It's a shame the world never accepted this developed band. Maybe when we all die and are burning in hell the p.a. system will be blaring "Warm Baby" (in RateYourMusic)
