The Snapdragons - Mass (Unreleased Second Album)
The Snapdragons (sometimes referred to as 'The Snapdragons UK', to
distinguish them from the later US band of the same name) were an
indie-rock band from Leeds, England led by singer and main songwriter
James Taylor. Other band members were: John Sullivan (guitar), Simon 'Spike' Mulling (bass guitar) and Pellegrino 'Pel' Riccardi (drums)
They released two albums and four singles in the late 1980s, early 1990s while signed to the independent UK label Native Records. The album Dawn Raids on Morality is rated by Native and many aficionados of UK Indie music as an undiscovered gem with thoughtful lyrics and classy guitar work and was produced by Pat Collier.
The band toured the UK and supported other Native acts, such as The Darling Buds and Richard Hawley's debut band Treebound Story. However inconsistent performances by the band and the departure of John Sullivan and later "Spike" Mullings hindered the band's ability to reach a wider audience.
The follow up album The Eternal in a Moment is a compilation of tracks from singles and EPs not found on the first album and includes two standout tracks 'The Things You Want' and 'The Eternal in a Moment' which were the band's first two singles. This compilation album was released by the label as the single were now deleted but against the wishes of the band.
A second studio album entitled Mass was recorded with Nigel Lister replacing John Sullivan on guitar however this was not issued by Native due to legal problems which effectively saw the demise of band.

Treebound Story - Take It
TREEBOUND STORY
Take It
1989 Native Records
Notes :
One of the most craziest songs from late 80's period must be ''Take It'' by Treebound Story.
It starts as great jangle indie pop track but after 03.35 minutes turns into baggy instrumental monster.
One of the tracks that shows how madchester sound influenced most of the UK bands from that period.
Maybe this madchester influenced track was change in direction for Treebound Story, but unfortunately this was last single released by this great band.

The Montgomery Clifts - Deadwood Chronicles
THE MONTGOMERY CLIFTS
Deadwood Chronicles
1990 Native Records
Notes :
One of the best albums i've heard this year is ''Deadwood Chronicles'', amazing indie pop album released in 1990 on Native Records by obscure and unknown UK band for me called The Montgomery Clifts.
This band released only one album and two cassette demo tapes, no 7'' or 12'' singles, i don't know why, album is full of great songs.
I've tried to find more info about The Montgomery Clifts, here is what i found on great Last.FM page :
''Formed in the short, damp summer of 1986, The Montgomery Clifts (Andy Bevan, Jeremy Purches, Myles Crampton and Dave Burbidge) decided that the only way to hear decent pop music was to write it themselves.
The resulting album, Deadwood Chronicles, was recorded in London with Creation in-house producer Ian Shaw and released on Native Records in 1990.
The line up was:
Andy Bevan - Vocals, guitar
Jeremy Purches - Guitar
Myles (“Bill”) Crampton - Bass
Dave Burbidge - Drums
Bill Bell - Mandolin, fiddle, percussion, harmonica & backing vocals ''
