WHERE CAN I BUY MY MONSTER MAGS?

With the brick and mortar shops shuttered temporarily, a reader commented earlier this week about the availability of digital editions of monster 'zines.

To answer that question, I made a list of a few titles with links to the purchase options on their respective websites. Looks like most are still print only, but there are a few that are offering digital versions.

In any event, if you like monster mags, now's the time to support them if you can. I've asterisked the titles that I personally recommend. That doesn't mean that the others are lesser in quality -- these are just the ones that I particularly like.

NEW 'MONSTER MAGAZINE'

Just released last month is the premier issue of a new monster magazine called -- well, MONSTER MAGAZINE. Looks to be a publication from a team of comic book artists. We'll see where this goes...

INFLUENCES FOR MONSTER MAGAZINE
Those great classic horror magazines of yesteryear are still inspirations to thousands of monster kids world wide. Famous Monsters of Film Land, Eerie, Creepy, and Nightmare to name a few are influences for Monster Magazine.

THE BEGINNING?
If sales go well for the first issue, Monster Magazine plans to go monthly. They are are also researching ways to lower the price by selling ads.

This issue contains an article by blogger Dave Goode (the Goode Stuff blog). He writes about the 1965 cult film Konga. David Walker presents a look into surreal moments in horror films. Artist Vance Capley (vancecapleyart.com) presents an illustrated version of H.P. Lovecraft’s Dagon. And finally a fantastic interview with cover by artist Ricky Blalock.
