The 1 July 1922 issue of the French film magazine, CINEA (with a Charlie Chaplin cover), contained a one-page advertisement for an exclusive Paris engagement of Murnau's NOSFERATU, THE VAMPIRE. No punches were pulled, as it depicts Graf Orlok in all his rat-like glory. The title of the ad, "An Hour of Horror!!", pulled no punches, either, and lured theatergoers with the promise of supernatural thrills and chills.
